No, he might not. But what do we know? A whole lotta nothing. The Yanks will do whatever is in the best interests of Joba.
Technically they will do what is in the best interest of the Yankees. In this case, that probably overlaps, but as we saw with the Boston/Schilling situation that’s not always the case.
there really is no basis for the speculation, but in my personal opinion, i think you are close enough to the end of the season where if he’s going to miss two or three weeks, do you really expect to see him rehab and make two starts the last 2 weeks of the season?

Isn’t Miranda’s defense at 1B even worse that Giambi’s? As in he has little to no range, but can’t even pick it? At least thats what I’ve heard. The nice thing is that Sexson can double as a late inning defensive replacement (except hes not hitting lefties like they picked him up to do, so thats about all he is right now).
I hope the Yankees just come to their senses and bat Giambi against lefties so this isn’t an issue.
Though it’s a small sample size, Sexson is actually doing worse with the Yankees, than the Mariners

Juan Miranda is batting .220 against lefties this year. When exactly would we be using him?
Against RHP? Like I said, bench Melky, put Damon or Nady in CF (other goes in LF), put Giambi at 1B, and Miranda at DH.

No, and Montero > Stanton. Nick Noonan is a stud, he’d be the 4th member of that group. Villalona and Kalish deserve a mention.
Freddie Freeman has produce very well. He has been terrific.
Overall, it’s not crazy to say but with the Bat, Montero might have the best upside. Although I take Heyward over him.

Why do yankee pitchers do that. Because you don’t get calls on the corners doesn’t mean you need to throw it down the middle. This is the best offense in the league. You make your own breaks and I still stand by my words when I declaired this season over.

If you’d have told me in April that Darrell Rasner, Dan Giese, and Sidney Ponson had made several starts each, Wang would be done for the year, Kennedy and Hughes were winless between them, Posada would be done for the year, A-Rod would miss time, Cano would suck for 1/2 year and they are STILL in contention for both the WC and Division, I would be THRILLED with this team. The benefits of making the “right now” move outweighs the risk of having Melky hit in front of I-Rod and any match-up issues with Wilson Betemit.

A-Rod had 3 FB’s right down the middle, all in the 86-88mph range, with little movement. And he couldn’t do anyting with those pitches, what a surprise!!
