Bullpens are a huge part of baseball these days, especially as roles continue to become more and more specialized. Nowadays the Yankees shuttle pitchers back and forth between Triple-A and the big leagues to ensure there’s always a fresh arm or two on the roster. As always, the strength of bullpen on any given day depends as much on who’s available as who’s on the roster.
The table below tracks the recent workload of the Yankees’ bullpen in terms of pitches thrown. I’ve added the same info for the Triple-A pitching staff as well, since those guys could get called up at any given moment. “WU” indicates the player warmed up in the bullpen but did not appear in the game, and an asterisk (*) indicates that the player is on the DL or suspended.
