The day’s notes:
- Keith Law (subs. req’d) redrafted the first round of the 2006 amateur draft. Based on what we know now, Law has three 2006 Yankees draftees in the top 15: Dellin Betances (No. 13), David Robertson (No. 14), and Ian Kennedy (No. 15). Joba Chamberlain, Mark Melancon, Zach McAllister, and George Kontos were also mentioned but did not factor into the first round redraft. Clayton Kershaw, of course, was the new No. 1 pick.
- Both RHP Chad Green, who is making his MLB debut tonight, and LHP Dietrich Enns earned spots in today’s Prospect Report. Enns made his Triple-A debut yesterday and pitched very well, which he’s been doing since returning from Tommy John surgery last summer.
- LHP Ian Clarkin earned a spot on MLB.com’s Prospect Team of the Week. He fanned a career-high ten batters last week in what was not only his best start since last year’s elbow injury, it was the best start of his career.
Triple-A Scranton (4-1 loss to Louisville)
- RF Ben Gamel & C Gary Sanchez: both 0-4 — Gamel struck out
- CF Aaron Judge: 0-3, 2 K, 1 HBP — they checked the ball for bruises after the hit-by-pitch
- 2B Rob Refsnyder: 1-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K — 22-for-55 (.400) with five doubles and two homers in May
- 1B Nick Swisher: 1-3
- LF Jake Cave: 0-3, 1 K
- LHP Richard Bleier: 7 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 WP, 1 HB, 15/1 GB/FB — 77 of 102 pitches were strikes (75%) … I’m sure it’s happened before, but I can’t remember any other 15 ground out games in DotF
- RHP Diego Moreno: 1 IP, zeroes, 2 K, 1/0 GB/FB — eight of 12 pitches were strikes
Double-A Trenton had a scheduled off-day.
High-A Tampa (3-1 win over Jupiter)

- RHP Vicente Campos: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 7/7 GB/FB — 58 of 80 pitches were strikes (73%) … his best start of the season, I’d say … he’s allowed two runs or less in half of his eight starts
- RHP Jordan Foley: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1 HB, 8/0 GB/FB — 25 of 34 pitches were strikes (74%) … hooray grounders
