Swept: Blue Jays rout Yankees 7-0 in series finale
Yankeemetrics: D'Oh, Canada [May 30-June 1]

Promotion season is underway: RHP Jose Campos has been bumped up from High-A Tampa to Double-A Trenton, the teams announced. Campos has finally made it out of Single-A, four years after being the other guy in the Jesus Montero-Michael Pineda trade. Expect to see several more promotions in the coming days and weeks. It’s only a matter of time until SS Jorge Mateo and 3B Miguel Andujar join Campos with the Thunder.

Triple-A Scranton (4-3 loss to Durham)

  • LF Ben Gamel: 0-4, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS

  • DH Nick Swisher: 0-4, 2 K
  • CF Jake Cave: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K

  • LHP Tyler Olson: 1.1 IP, zeroes, 2 K, 1/1 GB/FB — 12 of 15 pitches were strikes (80%)

Double-A Trenton Game One (4-2 win over Hartford in seven innings) Hartford is dealing with all sorts of construction and political delays with their new ballpark (here’s an update), so they’re playing the season on the road a la the 2012 Scranton Yankees … this is yesterday’s game, which had to moved to today because it was played in Norwich, and there was a scheduling conflict

  • SS Tyler Wade: 1-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 SB — 29/28 K/BB in 48 games … he’s almost four years younger than the average Eastern League player, by the way
  • CF Dustin Fowler: 2-4, 1 R — 11-for-31 (.353) in his last seven games
  • 1B Tyler Austin: 2-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP
  • RHP Ronald Herrera: 6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 3/2 GB/FB — 60 of 91 pitches were strikes (66%) … 60/16 K/BB in 56.1 innings
  • RHP Gio Gallegos: 1 IP, zeroes, 3 K — ten pitches, 14 strikes

Double-A Trenton Game Two (2-1 win over Hartford in seven innings)

High-A Tampa (4-0 win over Clearwater)

  • 2B Jorge Mateo: 1-5, 2 K — still hitting .296/.359/.482 on the season despite a recent slump
  • SS Abi Avelino: 0-5, 2 K
  • 3B Miguel Andujar: 1-5, 1 E (fielding)
  • DH Thairo Estrada: 1-4, 2 R, 1 2B — 23-for-65 (.354) with three doubles and four homers in his last 15 games
  • RF Austin Aune: 1-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
  • LHP Josh Rogers: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 6/4 GB/FB — 45 of 61 pitches were strikes (74%) … last year’s 11th rounder has a 45/8 K/BB in 50.2 innings
  • LHP James Reeves: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 2/4 GB/FB — 32 of 55 pitches were strikes (58%) … last year’s tenth rounder has a 48/13 K/BB in 31 innings

  • CF Jeff Hendrix: 5-5, 1 2B, 3 RBI — had been in a 7-for-38 (.182) slump
  • 2B Hoy Jun Park: 1-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
  • SS Kyle Holder: 0-1
  • RF Jhalan Jackson: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K

  • 3B Gosuke Katoh: 2-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
  • RHP Yefrey Ramirez: 5.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 8 K, 1 WP, 5/4 GB/FB — 62 of 94 pitches were strikes (66%)
  • RHP Jose Mesa Jr.: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K — 18 of 28 pitches were strikes (64%)
