A-Rod does it again!
Gather 'round, kids. It's time for a story

Pete Abe’s reporting that Humberto Sanchez had good ol’ Tommy John surgery. He’s the 4th Yankee prospect to have major elbow surgery in the last 6 months, joining Mark Melancon, Christian Garcia and JB Cox. Those are some seriously talented arms on the shelf…

Triple-A Scranton (4-3 loss to Syracuse in 14 innings)
Alberto Gonzalez: 2 for 7, 1 R, 1 3B, 2 RBI, 1 SB, 1 E (fielding)
Bronson Sardinha: 1 for 5, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 CS
Eric Duncan: 2 for 5, 1 BB, 3 K – last XBH was 10 games ago…
Ross Ohlendorf: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 8-6 GB/FB – 56 of 87 pitches were strikes (64.4%)
TJ Beam: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Erick Burke: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K – just picked up from the Padres
Charlie Manning: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Double-A Trenton (5-2 loss to Binghamton) shutout streak ends at 49 innings
Brett Gardner: 0 for 4, 1 K – at least he cut down on his strikeouts (3-5 K/BB)
Ramiro Pena: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 K
Cody Ehlers: 1 for 4, 1 K
PJ Pilittere: 2 for 4, 1 2B, 2 RBI – first RBI’s of the year
Jeff Marquez: 5 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 8-2 GB/FB – just because all those runs were unearned doesn’t mean they can be written off, Marquez gave up a single, double, walk, walk, single after the E

High-A Tampa (4-3 win over Fort Myers, walk-off style)
Reegie Corona: 4 for 5, 1 R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 1 K, 1 E (throwing) – walk-off double
Tim Battle: 1 for 4, 1 K
Jose Tabata: 1 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 SB – ready for this? this is only the 3rd game this year in which Tabata hasn’t struck out (out of 13 games)
Mr. Miranda: 0 for 3, 1 BB, 2 K
Colin Curtis: 0 for 3, 1 K
Chien-Ming Wang: 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HB, 6-5 GB/FB – outpitched by a guy who throws an underhanded knucklecurve…seriously!
Jon Ortiz: 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 2-0 GB/FB – 21 yr old just up from the Dominican Summer League, and daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn

Low-A Charleston rained out. No word on a makeup date.
