Here are the day’s notes:
- Remember when OF Aaron Judge was mired in that ugly slump a few weeks ago? Well he was just named the International League Player of the Month (PDF link). Congrats to him.
- Both LHP Ian Clarkin (No. 3) and Judge (No. 7) landed on this week’s Prospect Hot Sheet, so check that out. Clarkin started the season slowly but has really turned it on of late. Guess he’s finally shaken off the rust after missing all of last season.

- DH Ike Davis: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
- LHP Dietrich Enns: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 5/2 GB/FB — 65 of 100 pitches were strikes … I thought he was scheduled to pitch Sunday, but I got my days mixed up … either way, ho hum, another scoreless outing

- SS Tyler Wade: 1-3, 1 BB, 2 K — 16.1 K% and 12.9 BB% despite being more than three years younger than the average Eastern League player
- CF Dustin Fowler: 0-3, 1 BB
- 3B Miguel Andujar: 0-3, 1 RBI, 1 K, 1 HBP, 1 E (throwing) — 11.7 K% this year after 17.3 K% last year … he’s really made a lot of progress this year
- C Kyle Higashioka: 0-4, 1 PB
- LHP Caleb Smith: 3.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 5/2 GB/FB — 49 of 75 pitches were strikes (65%)

- RHP Matt Wotherspoon: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 1/0 GB/FB — 23 of 36 pitches were strikes (64%) … looks like he was sent down back here
High-A Tampa (4-2 win over Dunedin)
- SS Jorge Mateo: 0-5, 3 K, 1 E (throwing) — hitless in his last 16 at-bats … he’s hit .184/.219/.214 in 105 plate appearances since June 1st, so this slump ain’t so little anymore
- 3B Thairo Estrada: 0-5, 1 K

- DH Jeff Hendrix: 3-5, 2 R, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 1 K — got picked off first … 28-for-44 (.636) in his last 12 games … I’ve been doing DotF for ten years now, and I don’t ever remember a player being this hot over 10+ games

- RHP Domingo German: 1 IP, zeroes, 3/0 GB/FB– nine pitches, six strikes … the box score was being kind of wonky, it kept changing names in the pitching lines, so this might not have actually been German
Short Season Staten Island‘s game was suspended due to rain after one inning plus one out. Here’s the box score. They’re going to complete this one tomorrow.
Rookie Pulaski (8-3 loss to Elizabethton)
- CF Estevan Florial: 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 2 K — has a 29.5% strikeout rate in the super early going … he also had a 22.9% strikeout rate in the Dominican Summer League last year, which is pretty high for a supposed high-end talent … that’s why I’m still little hesitant to buy into the hype
- SS Wilkerman Garcia: 1-4, 1 RBI, 2 K
- RF Isiah Gilliam: 0-4, 1 K — got picked off first
- 1B Kevin Cornelius: 2-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 2 K — he’s crushing this level, which he should be doing as a soon-to-be 24-year-old
- 3B Dermis Garcia: 1-4, 2 K
- RHP Juan Jimenez: 2 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 WP, 1/1 GB/FB
Rookie GCL Yanks East (10-6 loss to GCL Yanks West) I’m going to combine the two teams into one update, because ultimately, it doesn’t matter who was on what side
- SS Diego Castillo: 3-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 2 SB, 1 E (throwing) — 7-for-20 (.400) in his last five games
- DH Trey Amburgey: 1-5, 2 R, 1 K — played the full nine innings as the DH … he’s still working his way back from a hamstring injury
- 3B Nelson Gomez: 2-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 K
- LF Juan DeLeon: 1-2, 1 R, 1 2B
- 1B Miguel Flames: 3-5, 3 R, 2 2B, 2 RBI — fire emoji

- DH Brandon Wagner: 1-4
- RHP Alexander Rosario: 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 1 HB, 3/3 GB/FB — 16/5 K/BB in 21 innings for the 21-year-old
