Couple of minor promotions

By

With Jon Alabaladejo’s and Chris Britton’s promotions to the major league team, Scranton needed another bullpen arm. Steven Jackson got the nod. He’s struck out 18 and walked three in 16 innings for Trenton. It appears the Yanks want to see what the 26-year-old can do at a higher level. David Robertson, three years Jackson’s junior, will get his chance in due time.

To take Jackson’s place at AA, J.B. Cox has been promoted. Happy day.

JB Cox is moving on up.

I’m glad that both David Robertson and JB Cox are in a Trenton uniform. When I first believed that Robertson was promoted I was a little worried thinking the Yanks were rushing him after only 7 games at the AA level when he previously spent 24 and 18 games at Charleston and Tampa, respectively. So this stay of promotion so to speak, should coincide with my previous timetable that he will not be promoted until June, or in that area.

Nice to hear about Steven Jackson, how often does every minor league player acquired in a deal pan out? If he makes it to the Major Leagues that means that every player in the Big Unit deal would have contributed to the New York Yankees in this one season.

BTW, what does JB stand for? Is it Jay Brent?

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but it appears Brian Bruney will be out for the year with a Lisfranc ligament tear. Kat O’Brien has the scoop http://www.newsday.com/sports/.....0676.story

    Ugly, ugly, ugly.
