Swisher's Evil Empire says:

If i purchased a ticket with stubhub, do i have to do anything extra? Or do i just show up the day of the game with my printed ticker with today’s game on it?

A.D. says:

The fact you purchased it from StubHub won’t make a difference. The Yankees will do 1 of 2 things:

Accept today’s ticket for a make-up game.

You have some fairly long period of time to turn your ticket into the box office for another game.

I had this happen last year stub hub should email you specifics.

The A’s are scheduled to come back for a weekend series July 24-25-26, and both teams have a dark day on the schedule that Thursday.

So it should be Thursday the 23rd of July.

TOP THAT INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING, BRYAN HOCH AND PETER ABRAHAM!!!

A.D. says:

One of the RAB guys already said that yesterday when the weather forecast called for rain last night.

timrandle says:

and they said probably not since A’s are travelling from west coast during that time…

Heh, well done. The good news is that they can still skip Wang in Boston:

Tues: Pettitte
Weds: CC
Thurs off
Fri: Joba
Sat: Burnett
Sun: Pettitte
Mon: CC
Tues: Wang?

timrandle says:

why not Tues: Joba?

would he technically be pitching on short rest?

if no, how about Tues: Hughes

(i know i know, write kennedy or igawa there for all i care, i’m just askin’!)

CMW needs to work this out, and if he needs to be skipped twice, so be it…

Nady Nation says:

What about this Thursday?

The league will only makeup a game on an off day if it’s absolutely necessary (like if the A’s weren’t coming back to NY later in the season) because they want every team to have all of their off days. They’d make them play a doubleheader first.

A’s probably don’t want to do that, they’re flying back to Oakland after Wednesday.

Matt says:

Oakland has a travel day back to the coast…so they try to avoid that.

That ‘dead’ day on July 23, the A’s are in Minnesota the day before and it’s the middle of a long ass Yankee home stand, so as someone else said, that seems to be a perfect day.

Nady Nation says:

Ah, didn’t realize the logistics of the A’s traveling. Yea, it seems the 23rd makes much more sense.

Not quite… the A’s are at home, not in Minnesota.

Still makes sense for the Yanks, though. That day is dark and in the middle of a homestand like you said. If we do it this Thursday, it eats our travel day to Boston (not a big deal, but still something.

Brian says:

Whether or not you’re right about Thurs, that is almost certainly when they’ll have the makeup game.

Maybe they schedule a DH that weekend if not on thursday.

Matt says:

Whenever they play today’s game, it is like they played it on today’s date…so if it’s Thurs, then use the tix then…

Hmm, the A’s have an off day Thurs ad do the yanks, but Oakland is scheduled to be in Oakland for a Friday game against Tampa….we’ll see.

24/House…meh….Ranger Playoff Hockey tonight!

Ranger Playoff Hockey tonight!

How did I forget that? EPIC FAIL.

What the fuck is “hockey”? That shit they used to show on the Versus network?

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Is that where they slide the rocks on the ice and try to get points like shuffelboard?

Thomas Gionet says:

Isn’t it violent curling?

Curling: Boring
Violent curling: slightly less boring, but still way more boring than any of the numerous NBA playoff games available

Doug says:

Matt says:

They play again in the Bronx over a weekend in July, so I’m guessing a doubleheader on that Saturday…

JohnC says:

You forgot Dancing With the Stars.

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

8 – Chuck
9 – Dhani Tackles The Globe
10 – CSI Miami (just the opening sequence to hear David Caruso’s catchphrase for the day).

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

“No Mr. Wolf, not the South Beach Diet, the South Beach Die!” (cue “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.)

Is “Dhani Tackles the Globe” any good?

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

Yeah. He plays the national sport from different coutries. So far, he’s done Muay Thai fighting in Thailand, Schwinging (sp.) in Switzerland (kind of wrestling), Rugby in England, Dragon Boat Racing in Malaysia and Jai-Alai in Nothern Spain.

Nickel for every time I’ve done “schwinging it Switzerland”…

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

It’s like Sumo wrestling on sawdust. It’s nuts. The winners of the tournament receive a cow.

The show would be better if they showed more of his skills in picking up chicks. The dude is a pimp.

Scott of 3 Kids Tickets says:

Sorry guys, no House tonight….

It’s a 24, Heroes night I guess…..

anonymous says:

Bulls/Celtics is tonight.

True. It’s not the same without KG, but D.Rose is fun to watch. Bulls hit the lottery… and then they hit the lottery.

anonymous says:

Mike Pop says:

DAL/SA should be good also.

Tom Zig says:

Do you have a new picture of AJ every day?

A.D. says:

They could just have a Thursday day game and get it taken care of this trip.

In which case the Yankees could go:

Pettitte
CC
Wang/Spot start

then in Fenway:
Joba
Burnett
Pettitte

else skip Joba to save innings and go:

Burnett
Pettitte
CC

Eh, I’m sure both the Yankees and A’s would prefer to schedule it for the dark day in July rather than the dark day now.

Gives ‘em both an extra few months to get healthier.

A.D. says:

I agree, just throwing out the other side since most jumped on the no Thursday game.

Jake H says:

Now I have to spend time with my mother in law. Terrible news.

JohnC says:

Jake:

Just kill her with kindness. Works every time.

Jake H says:

Oh I do. It isn’t so bad but when the game is on my wife and her ignore me. Now I have to talk.

Tom Zig says:

Go out and rent Yankee Classics and “pretend” that its live.

Fri 5/08 @ BAL – Wang v. ???
Sat 5/09 @ BAL – Burnett v. ???

Mon 5/11 no game

making our new rotation going forward (using CC as the arbitrary #1):

1-CC
2-Wang
3-Burnett
4-Joba
5-Pettitte

Sound right? It gives Joba the long rest this week by pushing his start back three days, but I don’t think we should complain about that much… Plus, sandwiching our two biggest risks to not pitch deep into games (Wang/Hughes and Joba) in the midst of our more veteran pitchers is a good thing.

A.D. says:

Tom Zig says:

Is pushing Joba’s start back 3 days that good of an idea? I always worry that when starters are taken off their normal schedule that their next start will be a blow up. We all know how much of a microscope Yanks/Sox games are.

But aside from that I love the pitching match ups for the Boston series

It is a concern (pitching Joba on rest that long), and it’s the only real downside to the plan.

The upside to it is we push back his days clock a few games and thus, ever-so-slightly extend the likelihood that he doesn’t hit his innings cap before the end of the season.

A.D. says:

He did okay against KC on long rest, but I agree that I’m not the biggest fan of it either.

Jamal G. says:

Oh, and don’t forget Jordan Zimmerman’s debut.

A.D. says:

Is How I Met Your Mother new?

No, How I Met Your Mother is not new.

(Yeah, that ‘s right. I went there. It’s subtle, but it’s there.)

jmas12 says:

Oh well. At least now I can say, with due attention, “LETS GO RANGERS!!!” Or the team otherwise known as Henrik Lundqvist and 19 or so other guys.
