    • rally caps

what’s he sayin? is he on about joba being dirty or somethin?

      • Mike Pop

        Just Huff’s fistpumps.

  • JobaWockeeZ

    Strike out the side Joba.

  • MB

    Huff has no class. A-Hole

  • Cassin Diggs

Let’s not forget Mike that they have to play in the best division baseball has had for a long time.. And why is everyone getting so worked up about huff? I mean it was disrespectful but it’s a game and every team has players that do that stuff..

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

And why is everyone getting so worked up about huff?

Because we’re juvenile and we anticipate quasi-violence and macho bravado.

Bard got called up by the Sox, for anyone who missed it.

  • V

Jeter’s range to his left is godawful.

    And that’s out number 1 with a non-Jeter SS.

I’m torn between a first pitch fastball in the ribs and a 3 pitch K with the largest fist pump he’s ever thrown.

      I like the latter.

What I don’t get about the Huff fist pump is why, as far as I remember there is no history there, if it was Youkilis I could see where it was coming from, but Aubrey Huff?

  • Infamous

    Jeter’s range is epic

Damn, what kind of phone do you have?

          • cjc

it has nothign to with anyone giving up on anything it has to do with this team as a whole performing very poor the last week and instilling no confidence what so ever jesus is that so hard to understand I never said anyone gave up they are just very hard to watch aqnd very very uncluthc right now the numbers bare that out

            • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Ah, okay. I misread your comment.

I thought you were saying the team had given up on making a comeback from a two run deficit. You’re saying YOU HAVE GIVEN UP on the team making a comeback from a two-run deficit.

My mistake. It’s not an assessment of the team’s lack of faith in it’s abilities, it’s an assessment of your lack of faith in the team’s abilities.

So, fine, whatever then. If you think there’s no way we win this game, I can’t convince you otherwise. So, have fun with that.

Is it possible that the Yanks are limiting Joba’s throws before the game, and during off days, which is possibly causing him to get off to poor starts. I have absolutely no idea if they are doing that, but it is a possible reason, and I don’t think the Yanks are very forthcoming when it comes to how they protect their young pitchers. • A.D.

    Lame

  • cjc

not sure I totally buy into hitting coaches makeing a huge difference but at what point does Long start getting some heat

    • V

Maybe when they’re no longer in the top 5 in MLB of runs scored.

      • cjc

meaningless just look at this teams stats with risp

        • Mike Pop

Wait, those runs count as double?

          • V

            Runs are meaningless?

            Really?

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

          All non RISP stats… MEANINGLESS!!!!!

    Ugh.

  • Matt-Pitt

    I hate life

  • V

Jeter and Damon are getting PWNED by this scrub.

  • Accent Shallow

Thought the reason they flipped Jeter and Damon was to avoid such situations.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Meh, they both looked like crap there, doesn’t really matter what order the K and DP go in.

  • pc69

Ok, why does every unknown look like Cy Young against the Yankees.

Could take a while but the hitting for this team just continues to baffle. So much talent and yet, so little in return when it counts. It is almost as though this is one of the best lineups to pad stats in the league, getting hits, RBI’s, etc when the game is out of reach. Frustrating.

    • JobaWockeeZ

And we can crush pitchers we know are good. Like Josh Beckett, we had a field day on him. Unfortunately we still didn’t win the game.

      • pc69

Ya, isn’t that the shit. The problem is that the majority of pitchers are not Beckett quality, they are the quality of this tool on the mound today.

I just don’t get it. Regardless of all the runs they score in a year and the games they win, they never perform well when they need to. Today, they need a win so they can get back to winning series – forget games in a row. Then they can have a day off and go and try to get 2 of 3 from Toronto. That is how they need to approach it.

  • cjc

    embarassing

    • Mike Pop

Embarrasment to the city, the fans, and themselves!!!1!!!!

      • donttradecano

        What is the Mets?

        • Accent Shallow

Why are you talking about the Junior Varsity in the game thread?

  • A.D.

Jeter isn’t doing so hot in that leadoff spot.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

If Joba gets Markakis here, Huff’s going down.

    • Matt-Pitt

That didn’t happen… Hopefully he is going down on strikes now.

  • Matt-Pitt

We got Adam Jones out… Somehow, they are going to win this game.

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Aunt Becca-Optimist Prime

Hypothetical: Would any of you trade AJax for AJones?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

      In a motherfreakin’ cocaine heartbeat.

    • Mike Pop

      I’d include more.

      • Mike Pop

Adam Jones will be a top 5 CF in 3 years, I think.

        • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Adam Jones will be is a top 5 CF in 3 years, I think know.

          • V

            Agreed.

          • Mike Pop

That would mean he is better than Ellisbury right now.

    • V

      Without a doubt, yes.

    • Andy In Sunny Daytona

      HELLS YEAH!!

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

      In a cocaine heartbeat.

It’s moot, though, Adam Jones is untouchable. We could offer them Joba for Adam Jones and they’d say no.

    • Cassin Diggs

is that serious? Adam Jones looks like a stud now, and Ajax hasn’t broken the big leagues yet..

    • Matt-Pitt

I would, in a heartbeat. Jones was a major prospect coming up and he already has success in the majors.

    • 27 this year

Adam Jones right now is what we hope AJax will become at his peak.

      • V

        Hope, yes. Expect, no.

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

I think AJax is one of the best young CF prospects in the game and will end up being a great centerfielder.

Having said that, I am not holding out any hope at all that he’ll be as good as Adam Jones, because that’s like expecting Phil Hughes to be as good as Pedro Martinez.

        Adam Jones is a superstud.

    • Arman Tamzarian

      Yes

    • Accent Shallow

      In a second.

  • http://theyankeeuniverse.com Moshe Mandel

If he gets Markakis, does he come inside to Huff? I hope not. No need to get suspended.

  • rally caps

there’s a good way to wake this team up: a combo of huff’s ribs, a baseball and a brawl

  • V

    This game is not fun.

  • Mike Pop

    Damn.

  • cjc

its like fate just doesn’t want to see Joba vs Huff with 2 out none on

  • JobaWockeeZ

    Fistpump for a popup?

  • http://theyankeeuniverse.com Moshe Mandel

The difference between the two things, Kay, is that one is a show of emotion, the other is contrived to specifically show up an individual player.

    • JobaWockeeZ

And doing it twice to show off really proves it was only made to mimic Joba.

  • Andy In Sunny Daytona

Kei dealing today. 8 innings no runs, 2 strike outs. Guts & Guile.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

He’ll be injured in the next few days.

  • Matt-Pitt

Come on offense, do something here.
