Game 100: Rock the Kazmir
ByDuring an unusually hectic morning, I was able to take a second to sit back and laugh at the report that the Rays had shopped youngster Scott Kazmir (can you believe he turned just 25 this year?) to a few teams, including none other than the Mets. I had this picture in my head of Andrew Friedman and his frat buddies standing over the speakerphone with Omar Minaya on the other end, trying to contain their laughter as they crank called him. It just seemed like something too hilarious to be true.
Unfortunately for him, Kazmir’s had himself a season that Nick Swisher would describe as “rocky road.” He’s got a 58-40 K/BB ratio in 74 IP, and both his ERA and WHIP are ghastly at 6.69 and 1.72, respectively. He has, however, surrendered two runs or less in three of his five starts since coming off the DL, so there’s signs that the ship is starting to right. With the way the Yankees are rolling right now, I hope they knock Kazmir back off track tonight. Nothing personal.
The key members of the bullpen are rested, so all they need is five out of CC. Here’s tonight’s lineup:
Jeter, SS
Damon, LF
Teixeira, 1B
A-Rod, 3B
Matsui, DH
Posada, C
Cano, 2B
Swisher, RF
Melky, CF
And on the mound, Carsten Sabathia.

Ace won’t be available though according to PeteAbe
Cliff Lee to Sox?
Oh noes.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.....f-lee.html
for Reddick, Bowden, and another prospect only?!!!!!! Take at least one or two more like a Kelly or something!
If that’s all it takes, the Yanks have to jump in with an offer.
Yea we do! I dont believe thats all they will get for Lee but if it is, we can definitely beat that offer.
Debunked.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.....f-lee.html
That was fast
Heh nice to hear.
That’s why you always have to wonder who floated a rumor and why. It could be there isn’t a shred of truth too this, but the story is INTENDED to get the Yanks to jump in with certain players.
Watch this get debunked as well. I don’t believe this one either.
Agreed. I don’t believe it but we could be wrong.
Unless prospect wise, the info is wrong.
kelly and bard off off-limits supposedly
big whoop..Cliff Lee is nothing…
sorry for the double posting
Can’t believe no one topped that offer for Lee if it’s true. Shapiro really has a “you know what” for Theo, eh?
Not true. He’s pitching better than both Sabathia and Burnett.
No organization produces more unreliable information that the Red Sox. Too many college in Mass producing journalists, too many fans in the media.
Prophetic.
Great Open Thread Title.
I hope our offense can get to Kazmir today to clinch the series. We need CC to continue his stretch of good games. Would be nice if he can shut them down because I want out run differential to increase a lot more while decreasing the Rays’ at the same time.
“so all they need is five out of CC.”
but we’ll gladly take 7+
Asked this on LoHud and got mostly the same responses:
Which WS matchups would you find sexiest (and yes, if you weren’t a Yankee fan?)?
Cubs vs anyone
Yankees vs Dodgers
Yankees vs Phillies
Red Sox vs Phillies
Red Sox vs Dodgers
Other
Also, Montero today 2-4 w/ 2B and RBI (and K)
i would say yanks vs. dodgers
Giants/Tigers.
Ya, I went there.
Yanks vs Dodgers got my vote.
So this Montero kid, pretty decent eh?
Vizcaino dude down at SI
5.1 1H OR 4BB 4K
Zolio Almonte starting to hit for SI as well
Sexy.
Yanks-Cubs
Two storied franchises, two huge cities. Chicago has a bit of a little brother complex when it comes to NYC, Pinella and Girardi are enormous contrasts in managerial styles, and then the whole 1908 thing. So much interest generated nationwide with transplants from both cities, so many story lines to exploit there, its just a great, great match up.
Yanks-Dodgers
A legendary rivalry that started back in the 40′s and continued through the 80′s, as well as the return to NY of Torre and Manny, plus the managerial battle of Girardi and Torre, you can’t get better than that. That has EVERYTHING.
Torre is dead to me.
Yankees v Cubs
His star is fallen a little with that K. Seriously though, nice Jesus!
A-Rod has been awful off of Kaz in his career, but I think were talking about a different pitcher this year, he aint the same, so lets hope things are a lil different tonight
while we are talking about the rumormill we are apparently determinate in what the rays are going to do in how they fare the next two days.
“Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports hear that the Rays may be shying away from a blockbuster deal. They’re 5.0 games behind Boston in the Wild Card race, so their next two games against the Yankees could determine the team’s direction.
f the Rays are discouraged after the Yankees series, they could make Dan Wheeler, Chad Bradford, Grant Balfour, Joe Nelson and Lance Cormier available, according to the FOX Sports source.”
Not sure if the Rays would consider dealing with in the division, they probably won’t, but having grant balfour would be nice.
Freddy Sanchez and Jack Wilson not in tonight’s lineup for Pittsburgh.
Are they on a plane to The Trop, or Boston.
“Yankees have struggled immensely against Kazmir, hitting .218 off him as a team. Six regulars hit below .200 against him, including Alex Rodriguez (.095), Derek Jeter (.129), Nick Swisher (.167) and Hideki Matsui (.174).”
Hmmm, hope we get to him today.
I’m not entirely sure this is the same Kazmir, however.
I wasn’t sure it was the same Angels either.
Needless to say I’m glad we have CC going for that reason.
Yea I thought the same thing so I hope we get to him.
Cliff Lee to Boston FAKE!!!!!
HAHAHA
Hahahahaha!!
That just rules. Kudos to the hacker with a sense of humor.
WEEI reports that Boston is trading for both 2009 All-Star Lineups!!!
…oh wait
anyone see this yet?
http://eurweb.com/story/eur54982.cfm
Lead story and photo on a popular Tampa Bay Rays blog:
B.J. Upton is so lazy he asked Robinson Cano to hold him upright while standing on second.
http://www.draysbay.com/
Heh, those comments are funny
very funny
Got this from Neyer’s blog:
http://failblog.files.wordpres.....#038;h=667
HAHA!
All they need is 5 out of CC? WTF?!
A couple fun questions for Joe, Ben, and Mike:
1. What are each of your winning percentages when you’re the lineup poster?
2. What sort of success rates do the variations of names have (Carsten Charles Sabathia vs. CC Sabathia) on the result of the start?
Completely useless information, but 100 games in it should tell us SOMETHING, no?
Is Steve Lombardi ever happy? Even though he didn’t say it (he is asking”, he meant to say that we don’t have a good offense and that we just beat up inferior pitching.
http://waswatching.com/2009/07.....it-depend/
Lombardi is never happy.
It’s really quite annoying.
yea it is
I just don’t get fans like that. Especially Yankee fans, who have the least to complain about.
I’m sure they’re scarred for life by some horrendous loss, and figure its better to be pessimistic so you never get disappointed. But who wants to live like that. They may make themselves feel better talking that way, but most people look at them with their negative attitude and want nothing to do with them.
“They’ll blow it in the
9th8th”!!!Hmmmmmm.
Yanks-Rays game live with CC pitching or the Dave Winfield Yankeeography.
Decisions, decisions.
how come they are showing yankeeography WTF..
Game’s on My9.
Game’s on My9
Jinx, buy me a Coke.
k nvm.
My9, which means we get another fabulous Russ salzberg post game show.
I keep forgetting that Kazmir is only 25.
I keep forgetting that Matsui isn’t 45.

Works every time.
6:06pm: Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal are now reporting that Washburn is “officially available” and have informed the Yankees, who plan to make an offer soon. The Brewers also could be interested in Washburn.
I would take Washburn for the right price.
any idea on what that is for u?
Not entirely. Not sure how to value Washburn.
If it was, say, centered around Romine I could live with it, but I get the feeling that wouldn’t be enough.
personally i wouldnt want to give up anyone in our top 10 prospects for a flyball pitcher in our park.
maybe melancon and bleich would be about the best i would offer for him.
I wouldn’t be willing to go as high as Z-Mac.
nice long AB there by Jete
Sweet AB by Jeter, though it ended with a K
kazmir historically has high pitch counts so ab’s like that from dj will only get him out quicker.
I’ll gladly take three innings of those.
that would be nice
Who would have thought we’d see the day where Phil Hughes throws harder than Kazmir?
(For some reason I picture Scott as averaging 100 MPH on the fastball, which is clearly not true. He’s definitely lost some velocity, though)
I don’t believe he’s ever thrown that hard, right? Sat mid-90s, but never Verlander-type stuff, IIRC.
http://www.fangraphs.com/pitch.....8;pitch=FA
I hope his velocity falls below 90 for today
Lead off triple against Arroyo
We must trade for this guy!
I really can’t fathom how he’s an attractive pickup at all. Unless someone has a time machine to 2005-06 handy.
Cmon yanks, lets get this started!
ZOMG, Kazmir has a perfect game through 1 inning!!!!!!!! We suck against good pitchers and pad our stats against garbage pitchers.
/Steve Lombardi’s
FAIL me…should be Lombardi’d
B. J. Upton plays a very shallow center field. I can think of at least three instances where the Yankees have capitailzed and hit doubles/triples over his head (including the three run rally to start the scoring last night). Yet he still keeps playing just as shallow. Anyone have any idea why Maddon doesn’t have him move back a little?
Because by playing shallow he can take away singles, and he’s fast enough to get to most balls over his head.
Because 90% of the time playing shallow works for him.
Because he gets to a lot of balls anyway.
Im not sure but I think mostly he gets good jumps and can utilize his speed to get the balls hit over his head. Most of the time.
Seems to me he gets burned badly at times, perhaps giving up much more than is gained getting to the bloops that he turns from singles into outs.
I hope he stays shallow so we can keep hitting it over his head for extra base hits.
I just wondered if anyone else noticed how we have taken advantage of his shallow play this year.
Mariners Ready To Sell

6:06pm: Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal are now reporting that Washburn is “officially available” and have informed the Yankees, who plan to make an offer soon. The Brewers also could be interested in Washburn
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.....-sell.html
This time of year, you could click MLBTR every 5 minutes and get something new. Its amazing how fast the rumors are flying.
You have no idea. It was complete chaos last night, and the deadline was still five days away.
If you can’t sleep, go to a vitamin store and pick up some Melatonin. Totally natural, makes you sleep like a rock.
I definitely like MLBTR as a rumor aggregator, but for analysis/commentary? Yikes!
(Especially the comments on the posts. Eek)
But you like Mike Axisa’s writing right?
I enjoy the Ben, the red sox homer on there.
MLB Trade rumors is good for a laugh but its pretty useless. Especially this time of year when writers and sites make up rumors to get traffic to their sites.
Please decline his option Tampa Bay!!!
Please!
Not supposed to be a reply.
I have a bad feeling about this.
Says Han.
Trading for Washburn could be the worst idea since Greedo shooting first (well, not really…that would be trading for Arroyo).
Why? He’s been great this year. Doesn;t strike anyone out, but Yankee stadium usually favors Lefty flyball pitchers.
washburn is having a fluke season, no thanks
we needed to repost this 5 min later…lol.
I’ve said this before, at least 5 times I think, I’m incredibly wary about Washburn. He may not give up a lot of homers or walks, but his tRA was pushing five the last I saw and I think he benefits greatly from an incredible OF defense.
We’ll just have to go with the Swisher-Gardner-Melky outfield then.
SICK!
Nice double play there.
9 pitch inning… sweeet
Woohoo I love DPs…as long as our offense doesnt ground/line into one.
marky T!!!!
This A-Rod fellow is a good hitter.
Not a bad base stealer either.
I hear he has a little bit of power as well. He is someone to watch in the future.
He does it for the wrong reasons, though.
Great play by Crawford to cut that off.
I often find myself wondering whether I missed something and some other team took the field at some point. Cano is smooooooooooth.
no DP Matsui
A-Rod doesn’t look very fast.
Like a first baseman.
I’m not snarking here; I don’t think he looked as quick as he had in the past. Doesn’t mean it’s the case, though.
Well thats true, he still isnt completely healed yet.
Let me call no homo first (not that there is anything wrong with it) but I think I love the current Yankees infielder…
infield, or would like to pick one infielder?
wow crawford is a beast
From Steven Goldman:
Washburn is a fly-ball pitcher, which seems like a bad idea in Yankee Stadium II, although being left-handed he should be at a theoretical advantage in the new park. Indeed, left-handed batters can’t touch him, batting .172/.231/.273 in 137 plate appearances. This is well below his career rates of .239/.295/.389, but let’s take it at face value for the moment. Washburn has good control but is usually very proficient at giving up home runs, leading the AL back in 2003. One of the reasons that he’s having such a good year is that in his average season, over seven percent of the flies he’s allowed have left the building. This year, the percentage is down to five, the lowest rate of his career, and yet there is no corresponding increase in his groundball rate. That screams fluke, something that could change at any time.
Still, if you take his proficiency against lefties as gospel and figure his presence will tilt some opposing lineups to the right side, perhaps his fly ball tendencies are not too troublesome. Whereas left-handed batters are hitting a home run once every 19 at-bats at the new park, right-handed batters have hit them at a more manageable (though still high) rate of one every 25 at-bats.
boy upton has a cannon for an arm
Arod didn’t score? Man he is unclutch.
Hehe never heard it like that before but Im sure haters can and will make that argument. He’s a selfish clubhouse cancer so his teammates didnt want to come through for him.
You are a broken record.
???
Damn couldnt bring home Alex…oh well, let’s get them next time.
Ya’ll jinxed him.
You are the one that created the jinx. Don’t try pinning this on others you voodoo Yankee hater.
http://riveraveblues.com/2009/.....ent-499391
too much jete defensive praise lately.
Doesnt CC throw a cutter? I remember him saying something like how it’s the last pitch to get working for him in ST. I don’t remember seeing many cutters on Gameday but I just could be misremembering.
Fastball, slider, and change.
no curveball?
I remember him saying he throws a cutter because he got lit up one time in ST and said he was workin on throwing it to both sides of the plate.
Where has CC’s control gone?
Ump must be blind. At least 2 of those 4 balls were actually strikes.
Hmm CC kinda gettin squeezed…get out of this CC
Burnett did this last night. Why are they so afraid of Pat Burrell. Throw him fastballs, he can only hit mistakes.
funny, you guys jinxed jeter by talking about his defense
Check this out. All 3 pitchers are on the trade market right now.
Pitcher A-ERA 2.62 W-L 11-3 SO 123 WHIP 1.05 BAA .243
Pitcher B-ERA 3.14 W-L 7-9 SO 107 WHIP 1.30 BAA .278
Pitcher C-ERA 2.71 W-L 8-6 SO 78 WHIP 1.06 BAA.224
A-Washburn
B-Lee
C-Halladay
Halladay
Lee
Wash
Ding ding ding
And Pablo’s response just proves my point, he’s been almost as effective as Halladay (better in some areas) and yet it seems to go unnoticed.
Can I Haz Strikes?
CC in a bit of a pickle right here.
BTW-Anyone know why we say “in a pickle”? How do you literally get inside of a pickle?
http://tinyurl.com/ly7dzp
“Origin
This alludes to the pickling liquid made from brines and vinegar which is used to preserve food, and presumably to the imagined difficult of being stuck in such. The phrase was known in Dutch by 1561 – ‘ in de pekel zitten’ meaning ‘to be in a pickle’.”
I’m going to start saying “in de pekel zitten” myself. Just seems like its more fun to say.
nice K CC
Is it just me or has Kapler gotten a lot smaller?
well he was gone from weightlifting for more than a year as a manager
You can’t lift weights while managing?
i wouldnt
wow cc is getting squeezed by this guy tonight at times
The ump is blind. According to gameday he missed some pitches that caught a lot of the plate.
we need a doubleplay ball
I think CC is aware of his Pitcher-Abuse-Points and wants a quick shower in this one…
No biggie.
Wow CC walks 2 batters then gives up a rocket to the next one. Not lookin so good…
he’s getting squeezed
That’s easy to make up.
Way to minimize the damage, CC.
OK, I dont mind the run that much but please throw strikes and be efficient from here CC
Yea he doesn’t exactly have his “CC” type stuff tonight
Phew.
aight cc, lets kill em now
finally a story that the Jays publicly asked for a large package from someone other than us.
“6:44pm: T.R. Sullivan at MLB.com says that the Rangers are reluctant to part with their top prospects for Halladay. The Blue Jays reportedly asked for a king’s ransom of Derek Holland, Justin Smoak and Julio Borbon.”
I still know they asked for more from us, but at least that is approaching comparable in that in the division you always pay a premium.
Kazmir looks a bit off on that high pitch..
something with his release…
i dont think he is finishing through the pitch on the lower half.
I’d like to finish through her lower half.
/thetodd’d
Euphemism five!
(His vocabulary is getting so much better!)
It sure is tough being a baseball GM uh.
not a job i would ever want to have
I know it’s tough, but I would absolutely love to have it.
i’d rather be an NBA GM
if Isaiah could do it, i can
people can whine about isiah as a trader cause he was horrific there but he was great in the draft.
Great is a bit of an overstatement. I always thought he had overrated drafting ability. He looked great compared to how he was at everything else, but he still made some bad decisions. He hit a few good players, but he was far from the draft guru that he was made out to be.
It’s the challege. If your competitive and know what ya doing, and get little lucky now and then, then you could be a good GM.
since they are willing to trade him so easily Im not sure they like him THAT much. It’s all the hype from the MSM/ESPN.
ok that wasnt supposed to go there
Clay Buccholz is getting ripped. Why does Theo like this kid so much?
Cuz he’s the greatest pitching prospect EVA!!!
come on DJ…another long AB.
The Laptop Kid getting knocked around a bit. 2-0 Oakland, middle of the 2nd.
I think he moved up now. I think he steals desktops now.
heh
no way he doesnt have the quickness or athleticism to get away with those. and since when are desktops a step up? i think he has gone to the newer tech and is stealing netbooks.
yanks working some reverse psychology tonight. make kazmir look good so he has more value to get dealt but still beat rays so they become sellers.
man kapler for the second night in a row makes an athletic grab
last night was Gabe Gross
How was that pitch a ball?
“6:57pm: Morosi and Rosenthal updated their previous post, and they say that the Brewers and Mariners have talked about Washburn. They remind us that Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik was a former exec for the Brewers and say that “many in the industry believe the Brewers have an edge.” Zduriencik is said to be a fan of the injured Rickie Weeks, who could be included as a PTBNL.”
hopefully this saves us from Washburn. Also makes sense that Jack Z would be more comfortable with the brewers system since he is the one responsible for building it so he knows them all very well.
Saves us from Washburn? I wonder how you will feel watching Mitre or Igawa pitch in Sept.
Mitre and Igawa cost nothing in prospects. Also, there are definitely indicators that Washburn would not be all that good in NYS.
Swisher played that poorly off the wall. I think he thought it was gonna get out.
It’s not a Yankees game with Swish in the outfield without some sort of bobble/screwup. This is why my Mets fan brother gives me crap for liking him.
Yeah…Mets fans have no right to talk about any team’s bad defense.
Jesus…
Looks like he just stuck his bat at that . . .
Looks like a stinker for CC today.
Looks like a stinker for CC and the Yankees today.
Good thing the bull pen is rested.
Cue the “CC’s not a true ace because he doesn’t win every game” rants.
He’s not a “true ace” because his strikeout rates suck.
OK, CC settle down
He’s having trouble finishing them off after getting ahead.
Fucking ridic.
yikes they are hitting cc a lot tonight
WTH IS THIS
Oy, just one of those nights it seems.
damn two throws airmailed tonight
What the Fuck with this team tonight? Looks like they are half asleep.
This game was over @ 6:30.
Yuck, so far
C’mon dudes, you’re better than this.
cc will allow probably 3 or so runs
the offense has to bail him out
If he can hold them to 3, we going to win this beotch!
wow arod air mailed that shit
they gave cc an earned run an the a-rod throw
Would be nice to see CC beat an actual good team once here.
So it’s those types of statements that have earned you this great reputation here. Now I see…
Ya, not like he dominated Detroit 2 starts ago.
you not watch detroit? He wouldve had the win in boston had the bullpen not suck balls then
oh yay! Lanny shows up again when we’re losing. Hadn’t seen him here when we were winning.
Last time CC was down 3-0, the Yanks won.
no worries people, still plenty of ball left to be played in this game and we all know the Yanks like the comeback
“6:44pm: T.R. Sullivan at MLB.com says that the Rangers are reluctant to part with their top prospects for Halladay. The Blue Jays reportedly asked for a king’s ransom of Derek Holland, Justin Smoak and Julio Borbon.”
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/.....day-2.html
Woah. JP has cohones, I’ll grant him that.
what’s the deal on Julio Borbon, real legit?
Mike would know better than me, but he looks like a nice player. He was called up earlier this year.
Here’s Sickel’s take from a year ago
http://www.minorleagueball.com.....julio-borb
He’s a good player, nothing special. Kind of a tweener. Not enough power for an outfield corner, not enough defense for center. Should hit for avg and get on base a bunch though.
Melky? Is that YOU?!?
“Sabathia does not have great command tonight” In other analysis, the Detroit Lions will probably not win the 2009-2010 Super Bowl.
that is funny!
OK, cmon offense time to mash
I guess we’ll have to root for the Os tonight, so that the Yanks can keep the 2.5 game lead in the AL East.
wrong vowel…it’s the A’s
You calm down McNulty.
Gotta root for my Os…my ex-Wife lawyer hot shot beau is making me look bad infront of my kids. Is it cool if I plant some of Marlo’s product on him and arrest him?
You are fast becoming one of my favorite commenters.
Mike Pop has betrayed me.
You’ll always be a good buddy of mine. Always, I promise you this.
give him an Omar scar, says i
Are we not playing 9 innings tonight?
Time for the offense to do something.
Are we allowed to call the Red Sox derrogatory names here?
yes, especially words like “Buchholz”. They need to go Buchholz themselves those buchholzing buchholzers
EARN THAT CONTRACT MARKIE!!!!!!
ARod gets a single
or ass Carl Crawford takes it away.
Unclutch
I look forward to seeing you in pinstripes, Mr. Crawford.
What are the chances his option isn’t picked up? Less than 10%?
Yeah, definitely. Like 5%.
What would it take to get him in a trade? Too much for a close division opponent?
they would be dumb not to pick it up even if all they do is trade him after they do.
Fucking Crawford.
dammit i wish we had Crawford.
Man, Alex smoked that ball.
i hope crawford is wearing pinstripes after he becomes a free agent
Hideki, what are you doing?
I love CC but ever since the all-star break, he has gotten of to slow starts in games. The first 2-3 innings have rough for him!
Matsui-san with a rare baserunning error.
I’ll take the RBI, though.
Bah, Matsui. Brain fart.
Bad baserunning, but i’ll take that run.
Cmon Matsui!!!!!! Man the Yankees have some shitty base runners. Taking a queue from Swisher.
Ok we are on the board! 3-1 TB… bad base running Hideki but nice single!
Hideki, you suck at running.
Bases loaded in Boston, Youk up
one run…thats a start. We’ll get him soon enough I think. We’re hitting the ball pretty well, just need them to land.
Cano will homer in 3… 2… 1…
wow matsui, you aren’t effing carl crawford
Changeup, meet Robbie. Robbie, changeup.
Well, look on the bright side – the Yanks have played awful defense, left some runners on, run the bases poorly and it’s only 3-1. Plenty of time to come back.
Seems like the ump in Fenway is a sox fan, gave Youk 2 balls, on two obvious strikes there.
Youkilis is the epitome of team ballplayer.
holy fuck you’re right, that was right down the middle in gameday
nice play by bartlett… jorge is slow as hell!
That’s a single if the man on first is anyone on the Yankees (non-catcher division)
Cano with runners on
Ok, I do not know who is slower – Posada, Matsui, Giambi (bringing him back for fun), or Molina?
But seriously, how slow do you have to be to not be safe.
Really, Jorge?
how is it possible to be that slow. jees that mightve taken away a possible 2 out rally.
OK, CC earn that check and hold them there. 3 runs arent bad and please be efficient now so you can go 7.
Looks like only a game and a half lead now
holy shit it’s the fucking fourth inning.
And 1.5 in first beats being, say, in any other place.
As Clay Davis would say, “Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttt.” It’s only the 4th inning and it’s a 3-1 game. Settle down.
1.5 lead? Wow, did the Yanks forfeit the game? Man, you turn the channel for 2 seconds on a commercial and you miss a lot…
i have a feeling cc will cruise from now on
He better find the strikezone first.
Acieves and Robertson are not available tonight according to Yanks beat writer Bryan Hoch. CC has to go 7
Thus Melancon, Albaladejo, Bruney, Coke and Hughes all should be.
They’ll find a way.
Life…finds a way.
/Ian Malcom’d
Close game do you trust Bruney, Albaladejo or Melancon? I am gonna say neither!
They should bring in Swisher to strike out Kapler again
+1
Jimmy McNulty apparently hasnt watched any Yankee games this year…
Vin Mazzaro is baaaaaaad.
It doesnt help if the ump is against you.
The whole “A-Rod struggles with pop-ups” thing needs to end. He dropped two balls like, four years ago. Might be time to move on.
thank you! the last time I saw him drop a ball was opening day 2007 and well, he had an MVP season that year!
You wish man, he missed that one in Anaheim pre-break.
More like E-ROD!!!
agreed
man they are really squeezing cc tonight
holy crap
There we go, strong inning from CC.
<3 Bobby M.
there is the comeback inning CC needed.
Nice inning by CC
CC: “He’s grinding it tonight” Only in baseball, folks.
“He’s grinding it tonight.”
Shut the hell up, Kay.
ken singleton with the XX refernce
nice
