I agree! There’s no need to deplete the minor leaguge prospects. Critics will argue that CC is not an ace and that they have a bad record vs. 1st place teams, mostly due to their record vs. the Red Sox.

What’s the deal with the radar guy today? Probably the worst I’ve seen all season. Two breaking balls from Aceves clocked at 91 mph. His fastball doesn’t hit 91! CC was clocked with a 97 mph curveball earlier, and a 96 mph change-up. Obviously the radar gun is broke. It’s understandable if the broadcast crew doesn’t want to highlight it’s broke, but it’s a bit ridiculous for them to have been talking about how hard Verlander was throwing, hitting 100 mph, when it’s obvious he wasn’t.
The YES gun is a joke, but Gameday had that alleged 100 mph pitch from Verlander as 99.4.
For some reason, the YES gun thinks everything is a fastball.
The gun was decent for a while and now it’s back to being total crap.
It did have a good 1 or 2 month run.

Then why are they only 2 games ahead of us? If we would have beat them at a .500 (which could have happened) we would be in the lead.
If they went 2-6 instead of 0-8 they’d be a game in front right now.

What got me mad was when they showed Bard k’ing guys and mking Buchholz performance seem incredible (when it was just avg) but didn’t give Hughes air time with his tremendous performance.

I’m not saying the mass panic was warranted, but 2-8 coming into this series isn’t impressive any way you spin it.
I think it is when people disregard series we won against teams that led the division when we played them.
It’s not absolute nonsense like some criticisms but it’s a huge talking point for Yankee haters and a life-raft for masochistic fans. I mean, when even my local West MI paper has a blurb on Yankees being “destroyed” by division leaders I have to start rolling my eyes.
