  1. Drew says:

We’re screwed. We’ve never scored 6 runs in three innings. Turn the game off. Go get some lunch, the game is ova. You heard it here 5th.

  2. Andy says:

This terrible job by ace can end Hughes rotation speculation

  3. ansky says:

cant win every game post all star, had to happen sometime. Chin up kids

  4. Dorian says:

The next time in that situation Scott Downs will be coming in hopefully. :-)

  5. Dorian says:

9 outs to get 5 runs? I like our chances.

  6. Salty Buggah says:

Dang, Andy start went from very good to meh/kinda bad

But it’s OK, we were gonna lose one day. I just hope we dont fall off the cliff like last year after the 8 game winning streak.

  7. Johan Iz My Brohan says:

Can somebody give 4 of those 6 runs to the A’s for the game yesterday, and the other 2 for some other game?

  8. Riddering says:

Of course people are going to be dogging Ace.

Wasn’t it just two weeks ago that Andy and Joba were done for in the rotation?

  9. Dela G says:

    nice job david

its only one game, you can’t win them all people

even the 2001 mariners lost 48 games

  10. cookie monster says:

    pitch melancon please.

  11. LiveFromNewYork says:

The minute the Yankees have a bad inning or even game or series, people are jumping off the roof. I FREAKING HATE THAT. It so reminds me of pre-2004 Red Sox fans.

  12. James says:

Should bring in a strikeout pitcher when we need a strikeout…

  13. Salty Buggah says:

We all knew Ace was going to have a clunker one day. Why are all of these people bashing him now? I cannot believe he got booed. That is just simply horrible and that’s why Yanks fans get a bad reputation. They boo for every little thing.

    • LiveFromNewYork says:

They never used to. I find that to be atrocious behavior. Jerks.

    • cookie monster says:

I doubt Aceves cares about getting booed.

      • Andy says:

U boo bad performance. It’s part of the deal

        • cookie monster says:

I don’t disagree. Fans pay for their seats, they can do whatever they want.

        • Salty Buggah says:

Ummm no you don’t boo anyone on the team you’re rooting for.

          • Mike Axisa says:

I’m fine with booing your own team in certain spots. But booing a guy who’s been lights out all year when the team has won 21 of their last 26 games is not one of those spots.

It just makes you sound spoiled. No wonder everyone hates the Yankees and their fans.

            • Salty Buggah says:

Yea, I mean if you’ve allowed like 6+ ER in 5 straight starts, go ahead. Or if you blow the game everytime, go ahead. I don’t think it is right but it is definitely understandable. But Ace has saved us from many losses this year. People forget that he had a 4-inning save and got us out bases loaded less than 2 outs jams many times before this year.

            • LiveFromNewYork says:

I would never do it but it’s occasionally, very occasionally (2004 occasionally) okay. But to do it to Ace who has been great or to do it to Arod when he’s in a slump is just rotten fan behavior. Very not okay. Sometimes fans get upset when players don’t take a curtain call or ignore them before/after the game. If people were only loving me when I was great even though I turned in good, sometimes great, performances, I would ignore them too.

  14. Dela G says:

    HAHAHA MICHAEL KAY FAN CLUB

  15. Dorian says:

I sincerely hope that this isn’t going to become the Hughes, Coke, and Mo show.

  16. Andy says:

Making g Gonzalez look like Roy halladay

  17. Riddering says:

Alright, Clutch-Rod. We need one of those five-run homers.

  18. Dela G says:

    melkman gets on base

  19. Drew says:

    PH for Ransom?

  20. Dela G says:

this guy has the best strike out pitch in baseball

    its been recorded as such

  21. Salty Buggah says:

damn, that could have been a walk.

How awesome would it be if we somehow come back to win this?

  22. Dela G says:

well now i can go do some grocery shoppin

    • Dorian says:

I have learned the hard way that the Yankees are never out of the game. Melky’s second walkoff against Joe Nathan, I was in the liquor store.

  23. Dorian says:

Chop it down to 6-4 and I like our chances in the 9th

  24. Salty Buggah says:

Hopefully, Melancon gets some work today if we dont get any runs. That would be nice. I want to see a 1-2-3 inning from him

  25. Riddering says:

Gardner’s my player of the game. I love those legs.

  26. Dorian says:

  28. Drew says:

    AWESOME!

  29. Brazilian Yankee says:

Here comes the rally. We’ll score 4 runs in this inning and 2 more in the 9th to win it.

  30. Salty Buggah says:

    JETER!!!! keep it going guys!!

  31. Riddering says:

  37. Steve O. says:

    Anddddddddddddddd now we’re cooking.

  38. Mike Axisa says:

The Yankees are unimpressed by Michael Wuertz’s unhittable slider.

  39. Drew says:

    Swisha house or swisha pass

  40. Drew says:

    Yankee Gods say hello

  41. Mike Axisa says:

    Tying run to the plate.

    • Brazilian Yankee says:

Too bad it’s Cano with a runner in scoring position.

Let’s hope he can come through, he’s so due.

  42. Salty Buggah says:

nice Swisher…cmon Robbie, a big HR here and all of your failures with RISP will be forgiven

  43. Steve O. says:

    Don’t ya know!!!

  44. Drew says:

Why are those little girls shadow boxing

  45. Riddering says:

Cano, just get a hit. Any hit.

    A universe depends on you!

  46. Mike Axisa says:

Fuck you for getting me excited Michael Kay.

  47. GG says:

    aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  48. Salty Buggah says:

    Robbie with RISP still horrendous…

  49. Drew says:

Almost a game tying hr? Didn’t make the warning track, ass.

  50. DGeezy says:

im still so baffled at how cano can keep making outs just about every time up with RISP

  51. Riddering says:

I look away and Michael Kay makes me piss my pants for nothing.

Kay, you owe me a new pair of pants.

  52. GG says:

    Shutout inning by Mariano
    Melky gets on
    Hinskenator ties it up

  53. Andy says:

Cano is the pitts with runners on

  54. Drew says:

    brune time

  55. Brazilian Yankee says:

I guess we’ll have to score 3 more in the next inning..

  56. Mike Axisa says:

Why not Melancon? Give me a good reason.

    • Drew says:

      really? This is Bruney’s spot.

    • Salty Buggah says:

Idk but I think Girardi doesnt want to use Mo and he thinks we can come back and apparently bruney is more reliable so he gives us a better chance to hold the score right there.

    • handtius says:

I think Bruney gives us a better chance at a come back, considering Melancon hasn’t pitched since before the wheel was invented.

  57. Salty Buggah says:

    OK, I dont mind Bruney

  58. Dorian says:

Melky, Damon, and Posada in the 9th

  59. Andy says:

Send melancon back if ur not going to use him

  60. Salty Buggah says:

well, Bruney got 2 K’s like last time. Let’s see what he does now. He is kinda throwing high.

  61. Drew says:

    Me likes me some Bruney.

  62. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

    come on yanks.

  63. Dorian says:

    WHO WANT’S PIE!!!!!!

  64. pete says:

wait i don’t get it. what happens if the yankees don’t score two or more runs in the ninth?

  65. Drew says:

    Melky=huevos

  66. GG says:

Damon’s deck here we go baby

  67. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

    lead off walk always hurt

  68. Salty Buggah says:

    Ok JD no DP…

  69. Steve O. says:

Clutch walk. Tying run to the plate.

  70. Steve O. says:

  71. Drew says:

    WOOOOTTTTT

  72. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

    another walk

  73. V says:

This is what happens when guys used to being 1 inning closers have to finish the 8th.

  74. Salty Buggah says:

    aite then no DP Jorge

  75. Mike Axisa says:

Jays blew a nine run lead to Tampa.

  76. Salty Buggah says:

Holy Fuck! Rays came back to tie it at 9! Weren’t they down like 8 runs or something

  77. yankeefan91 Arod fan says:

    fuck

  78. V says:

It still boggles my mind how it’s even possible to be as slow as Posada.

  79. Salty Buggah says:

wow bad DP Jorge! just horrible

  80. Andy says:

    Dp. Sucks

  81. Esteban says:

    can’t win em all

  83. Drew says:

  84. Salty Buggah says:

DAMN! Oh well, so close! we showed a lot of fight at least

  85. Drew says:

If only AP could’ve finished the 7th..

  86. Andy says:

    Blame ace for this

  87. Riddering says:

    It’s gotta happen sometime.

So this just means we’ll save our next sweep for Tampa.

  88. Salty Buggah says:

    Ace’s 2 extra runs kinda hurt now…

    Cmon Jays, win it.

  89. Dela G says:

    great comeback

    lets get em tomorrow

  90. Dorian says:

    Phil Hughes available=Yankees Dub

  91. Tom Zig says:

8 wins in a row is a good streak. we probably sent out one of our worst line ups and still scored 4 and brought the winning run to the plate in the 9th.

Back at it tomorrow. We have guaranteed ourselves at least an 8-2 homestand, which is awesome.

    • Salty Buggah says:

      yea, and 8-2 is awesome

      • Zach says:

yeah, still this game is still a bummer though. i had to leave in the 4th inning and Andy seemed pretty much in control, I come back in the 8th and its 6-1 and wtf, then i have to listen to sterling’s “win or lose, this team always batttles back, they might come up short but they battle back” nonsense in the 8th inning. then 2 guys on with 0 outs and DP (Cervelli wouldnt have hit a DP there- kidding)

not blaming anyone, but it was a let down after the 8th and start of the 9th.

        • Salty Buggah says:

I’m actually not feeling all that bad. Our bats were mostly quiet all day and then we needed a rally, we got hot and showed a lot of fight. That was very encouraging. We got a few bad breaks like Ace’s unusual clunker and the DP but we never gave up. It is dissapointing that we lost after Andy was lights outs. But once he and Ace combined to implode, many people gave up hope. Yet, we almost did the amazing again and that put me in a good mood.

  92. LiveFromNewYork says:

This is a good team and we didn’t even field our A team and came very close. I am perturbed over booing Ace. Yes, it’s nice to win when you’re at the park, esp when the team has been hot but I’ve stayed there clapping in the 9th during blowouts (when we were on the losing end). Support the team.

Live by the team, die by the team mfers. Doncha know.
