haha its all good now my man
its all fuckin good
Girardi’s an idiot.
/RAB’d
Girardi is good. His decision last night was terrible.
you have to admit that his decision to bunt with melky was a little smug.
This.
Agreed.
It was a joke.
I figured it was. But Negative Nancy Lanny is out lurking tonight, so you never know.
Please tell us when giving up an out when a pitcher is on the ropes is a good?
I’m dying to hear it
Melky is ops’ing .569 in his last 28 days, and a stellar .494 in his last 14. I don’t care if the ball is on a tee, Melky should be bunting there. Set up 2nd and 3rd with one out, Jeter coming up and a 4-2 lead with Hughes/Mo in the pen.
Please tell us when giving up an out when a pitcher is on the ropes is a good?
you mean the pitcher who was facing his first batter?
try again.
If the pitcher can’t get anyone out, then why does it matter if you give up an out?
Why can’t they let Hughes pitch to build up his innings?
because he might be needed with nippert vs burnett tomorrow
Rather have him if we have a close game tomorrow.
They had that thinking all month which is why he’s only pitched about 7 innings this month.
Actually 8 innings.
guys, if you ride hughes as hard as you can, how many additional innings are you going to get? 5-10?
it’s meaningless.
ONE inning here or there means nothing.
by not pitching tonight here is the effect it has on his development: NONE.
What? You mean he can’t pitch 2 days in a row?
No, I don’t want him to pitch in about 16 hours.
They could, but it won’t change his innings limit next year. He would have needed to make 25+ starts to increase his innings limit for next year. After about July 1 he had missed enough starts that it wouldn’t make a difference on innings for next year, even if he went back to the rotation for the rest of the year.
i fucking hate the phillies bullpen. stop blowing my wins!!!!
unbelievable how their record is so good with that shitty back end of the bullpen they have
And that shitty rotation minus Cliff Lee.
Oh and JA Happ too.
incredible how that works, eh?
Yeah I know. But you know it is the NL…
Me too. Not happy. Down 3-1 in wins this week in a H2H league. Kinda needed that…..
why not take A-rod out and put Hinske in?
A-Rod is way too gritty to be taken out for that. Just imagine if he had a beard and pinetar on his helmet.
because the game isnt over
NOW kid…
Just because he is pitching an inning, doesnt mean he is actually building his innings…
So if he pitched an inning tonight it would add to his total? Not sure I follow that.
Can we pull an LT move and send booze, drugs and hookers to Hamilton’s room to tire him out for tomorrow’s game?
Too soon?
This isn’t Blitz: The League.
Just spike their G.
Eiland says stop fucking around.
good god bruney, throw fucking strikes
Oh, is this Bruney fucking up? Color me surprised.
An infield single and a bloop to right center, hardly fucking up.
I meant the walks.
Good thing this one is mostly over, but it sure is painful to watch Bruney pitch.
ehhhh. Wonder if Hughes is going to get in after all.
Velocity is there, command, not so much
Oh no…
Hopefully it’s just a bruised hand
Fackin FAAAAACK
awwww shit.
injury delay?
posada injured on foul ball off glove
molina brought in
Foul ball bounced up and hit Jorge’s hand and he winced. Joe came out and took him out pretty quickly, no reason to risk it in this kind of game. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Sonofa…
Please Mo don’t be broken.
hey a molina sighting!
This would be bad.
And Bruney sucks.
If Jorge is injured, I blame you Brian Bruney.
Pinky? That thumb again? Not sure what happened there…
That isn’t good.
I thought that people would have realized how important Jorge is after he missed most of last year. Apparently, that didn’t sink in with everyone. Hopefully, the baseball Gods aren’t going to hammer home the point this year.
Who didn’t that sink in with?
A lot of people. And even check out below.
What happened? I’m only on GameDay
ruh-roh
hope Jorge’s OK too
If Jorge is injured, all of you who bash him for no reason will get your wish- Jose Molina will be catching > 50% of the games. Be careful what you wish for.
Why? His defense is good and while is bat is not, the lineup can easily carry him. This isn’t 2008.
because the lineup is already carrying Melky. And that’s when no one has a day off.
I thought we learned this lesson last year. It’s not the brightest thing to think that a lineup can carry automatic outs. Especially in the AL. Plus, Molina has also proven that he can’t stay healthy for an extended period of time if he’s the de facto starter.
Jorge is incredibly valuable to the Yanks. Can we please stop pretending like it wouldn’t be a big loss if he was gone for a long period of time?
You would think that last year would have proven how valuable Jorge is.
Pinky?
I’m going with Jorge’d still be in this game if it were 2-1 but because it’s 9-2 they’re taking him out.
Word, better safe than screwed.
Damn it Posada, KEEP THAT HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK
It hit his glove.
It was the glove hand that time.
ohhh, my bad, i just assumed. Im not in front of a TV. Point still stands though
True that.
Posada’s hurt, and it’s Bruneys fault.
It looked off the tips of the finger which probably hurts like a bitch.
Bruney is quickly earning his way off any post season roster consideration.
Have you had a positive comment all year? I mean, seriously, do you really even like the Yankees?
and we’re winning in a blowout today too!
I think we all know the answer to that by now..
Lanny had one. I’m paraphrasing but it went along the liens of “The Yankees are good. We know that. So we have a right to complain if they don’t perform.”
The old left-handed compliment.
Maybe it’s the beer in me, but you might be right. No, wait — I’d bet money you’re wrong. I figured the law of probability would mean at some point you might be right and this a good time, but I can’t stomach that.
Although I wouldn’t mind not seeing Bruney for a bit.
Admit it: you want a bad Bruney for the postseason.
At least Bruney will now pitch well, without Posada calling pitches.
/Burnett’d
This was all planned so Girardi can have Molina catch tomorrow without any questions. haha
well there wont be any questions now, except about jorge’s health
does bruney have any options left?
Brian Bruney is no Andy Pettitte.
Bruney doing his best Frank Francisco imitation…
but recovers nicely
look Bruney got the DP b/c of Molina
ROUND THE HIZZY BABY
Bruney was just doing what Andy did in the first, guys.
Again, this is the Pudglet we remember
DOUBLE PLAY!
There’s the Pudge I remember!
Pudge has made 3 outs in the same exact spot. The 4th out was a K. Everything else was a rip to Al.
Bruney is one lucky ass bitch.
thanks for your help ivan
/Waits for Lanny to say that Bruney got lucky…
Hold your breath, it won’t be long.
And speaking of how much the Yankees and this game suck. Doesn’t the grass look a little too long? And the lights are a little too bright tonight? And are the seats painted the right color? And are the foul lines as straight as possible?
The concession lines are too long
The urinals are too damn tall.
I could only fiNd one ATM, it was behind home and my seats were in right…
well he did? pudge hit into a DP on a pitch that was way inside against a guy who cant find the zone. if that was a Yankee we’d kill him and say he let the pitcher off the hook and he got lucky
I know, I know. It’s just predictable from him.
True
And we’d be justified, too.
I think Bruney was actually rather unlucky that inning. An infield single, a broken bat flare to right. He wouldn’t have needed a double play if either of those turned into outs.
Posada hopefully is ok.
fuck papi
oh no, what happened
walk off hr
He juiced one.
He juiced one. And the fraud will probably say he did it for Ted Kennedy.
He juiced one
OICWUDT
He probably doesn’t know who Ted Kennedy is to be honest.
Did he just walk Molina? Really?
Walking JoMo
Hilarious
Ugh Boston just won
ortiz just hit a walkoff HR
What is that? Papi’s first multi HR game this year?
I hate Ortiz soo much, fucking walkoff homerun… everytime I see his picture on gameday I want to punch my computer.
Nice slide, Jose…
cano, you could hustle next time, maybe he needs to be benched again
nope. no he doesn’t.
Those lazy Dominicans…

cano = mr double play
Hairy in da house
Hairston’s been talking to Swisher.
33 pitches for Hairston tonight.
/Swisher’d
And a dinger. Time for a Hairston fanclub?
how do the Mets score 3 runs off of Josh Johnson?
with the powers of babip
Jerry Hairston has seen 34 pitches today
Cashman can’t build a bench!
Same exact pitch that was called a ball is now a strike. I’m not necessarily complaining, but the strike zone has been a bit odd tonight. Not Joe West odd, but still a bit strange.
hey i just checked my fantasy team, what happened in the phillies game, hamels had a 8 inning shut out and i see its 4-1 top 10
They sent in Madson, instead of Lidge, to close and he gave up a HR
Madson blew it in the ninth.
Just for kicks, I’d love to see Andrew Brackman called up.
Yeah he can pitch the 9th inning of Game 162.
He’d walk the bases loaded, then proceed to strike out the side. Of course, all three runs would score, due to all the wild pitches he’d throw in the process.
time to bring down the hammer. Bring in Mo to pitch the most important inning and outs of the game and snuff any and all rallies.
*whif*
/the real Chris Davis’d
How many strikeouts would Chris Davis have hitting in the Little League World Series?
It’s a closer mound. He wouldn’t stand a chance.
Well, most people wouldn’t considering how wide some of the strikezones the umpires call are.
Jerry Hariston – 34
Nick Swisher – 15
Et tu Cone?
Re: Philthys.
Cone = Phail
IETC.
+201
this is great from Abraham’s fill-in:
Of course, Rodriguez was promptly thrown out at home on a terrific play by Elvis Andrus. A-Rod saw Andrus field the ball on the slide. Why not turn around and go back to third?
…uhh, b/c the 3B coach was halfway between 3B and home waving him in?
The hate he gets from asses like Abraham and his goons is almost, just almost, unbelievable.
Pete is a good reporter but that the bias he shows is incredible.
But he’s a Sox fan so meh…
No way is he a sox fan.
They were his favorite team growing up.
Ehhh, I really doubt he allows any past fandom to color his reporting.
Agreed.
His Anti-Alex campaign is reminiscent of every Red Sox fan I know.
I’m an ex-A-Rod downer. I went to rehab 28X
http://riveraveblues.com/2009/.....ent-551388
You got lucky
Bench Cano! Double plays, good hitting and smooth fielding be damned!!
yeah fuck that bastard!
Shit. Another Yankees win, meaning that every hour will suck until the Yankees lose again and I can celebrate.
/Lanny’d
*…until the Yanks lose or until Girardi makes a somewhat questionable decision.
* SO I CAN WRITE IN ALL CAPS
Wow, RAB has quite the sense of humor, even against the really obnoxious posters. This site gets better and better each day.
Just in time for Real world.
I hate the drunks int he Smirnoff commercial.
Those ads are Young Douchebags of America: The Series
lmao
I propose a trade. Joba Chamberlain to the Baltimore Orioles for a “Boog Powell” Barbeque sandwich. If the Orioles balk at sending such a tasty treat in exchange, give Joba to them for nothing, because he sucks.
I propose a trade; Gary to Lohud for a sparkly mouse cursor.
If they turn down the sparkly mouse cursor, counter for a stick in the eye.
How about gary to Lohud for Bonzi Buddy.
I don’t know this Bonzi Buddy you speak of, but if you are willing to vouch for him or her, I’m willing to make that deal.
We have a Jorge Posada (and A-Rod update) for those interested.
Cool. Thanks, Ben.
