ALDS Game Three Spillover Thread III

By

What the hell is the point of pulling Andy when he was at 81 pitches? He wasn’t struggling. Like, at all.

Categories : Game Threads, Playoffs
  • ashish

joba throw that slider down down down down down!!!

  • JMK aka The Overshare

There is a heretic questioning the wisdom of the Great Girardi. What shall we do with him?!

  • Jersey

And putting in Joba to boot. Seem like two bad decisions regardless of outcome.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

No. Because Joba Chamberlain is a supremely talented pitcher.

Pulling Andy to put in Gaudin, now, THAT would have been a bad decision.

I have faith in Joba, Girardi has faith in Joba, and that faith was rewarded.

      • Ivan

Still Pettitte was ROLLING, and barely was over 80 pitches, to me that was just overmanaging no matter how good Joba is.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

That is more debatable. Andy’s location seemed to be drifting, IMHO.

          • Ivan

Yeah however, he just K’d 2 consecutive batters. I don’t think he was tiring that much.

      • Jersey

Talent means nothing if you can’t harness it. Joba has had a bad year. He’s the 4th or 5th best option out of the pen. Surely you can see that.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Joba looked good in Games 1 and 2. He hit a wall in September, but now he’s only being asked to do an inning at a time, and he’s had some decent time to rest and recuperate, and it’s paid dividends; he looks like the old Joba.

          Surely you can see that.

          • Jersey

He hit his wall in August. His ERA is nearly 8 since the end of July. And his velocity still isn’t where it was, even with the bullpen uptick. There other guys who’ve been doing it successfully out of the pen a lot more often, all year. But all those innings don’t compare to Joba’s…three?

      • ROBTEN

That was a gritty out Punto.

He’s a baseball player, but only on his days off.

  • Pasqua

He is Joe Girardi and YOU WILL REMEMBER HIM!

    • JMK aka The Overshare

      FEAR HIS MASSIVE ERECTION!

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siYKRL4I3UA JobaWockeeZ

Heh well I just noticed CC, Aj and Pettitte combined gave up less earned runs than Josh Beckett.

    Massive ESPN fail.

  • mustang

This shit is killing my BP

    • Karen

Dude take deep breaths, drink lots of water, you’ll be fine. Wouldn’t hurt to get up and walk around either. (I’m a nurse.)

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

        HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NURSE

  • lily-bk

girardi is obsessed with this bullpenn. and he over manages way to much

    • AndrewYF

Actually, Girardi has been the best bullpen manager in baseball this season.

      • JSquared

Yes Sir, Best manager in the game.

      • Upstate Nick

        +27

    • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

      lol. He can’t be right…

  • AndrewYF

He was struggling in the last inning. What are you talking about?

I would have supported the move if they’d gone to Hughes, but they went to Joba. That worked out, but I don’t think it was the right move.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

I fully endorse both pulling Pettitte and inserting Joba.

      Two right decisions.

      • JSquared

Was the right move with Righties coming up.

        • whozat

Yeah, because Andy had a REAL problem getting those guys out before.

It’s not all about platoon advantage at all times, it’s about pitching advantage. Joba has better stuff than Andy, but Andy’s still a better pitcher, and still had everything working just fine.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

          That too.

Like I always say, the handedness of the pitcher is only half of the equation.

          Delmon Young, 2009:
vs RHP as RH – .271/.301/.383
vs LHP as RH – .310/.321/.512

          Brendan Harris, 2009:
vs RHP as RH – .238/.289/.340
vs LHP as RH – .302/.348/.403

          That decision practically makes itself.

      • http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/riddering/Baseball/reachforthestaaaaars.jpg Riddering

        TWSS?

    • whozat

I disagree. The first hit was on a good pitch, Cabrera was actually out, and then there was one shitty, shitty pitch to Mauer. Then, he came in and got the first guy easily…and Delmon Young was coming up, who he’d handled easily, followed by the rest of the bottom of the lineup.

  • Andy in Sunny Daytona

    DON’T DOUBT THE SOUL PATCH!!!

  • Mouch “Half Man Half Couch”

After 81 pitches? The way Andy was dealing?
    I can’t wait to hear Joe’s explanation.

  • Karen

Agree, I have no clue why Pettitte was taken out. He did not look tired. I was sweating it out there. I assume Hughes or Coke will come in in the 8th?

    • AndrewYF

I want to know why anyone who has watched this team all season would think that Phil Coke would start the 8th inning with a one-run lead.

      • whozat

WHAT IF THERE’S A LEFTY?!?!?!?!? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • Spaceman.Spiff

Well the bright side is, I feel more confident throwing him out when we really need him after this performance. He allowed a double but worked out of it which he hasn’t been great at lately. Either way, gotta like our chances from here on out.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

      That too.

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

How can moves that work out not be the right move? You can say hypothetical scenario A or B would have been better but you can’t prove it. The one that worked out IS the right move.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

No, it doesn’t work out that way.

The move was right because the move was right, not because it worked.

      • slappy white

        AND because it worked

      • crapulent aka I said good day sir

I agree. But saying “It worked out but it wasn’t the right move” just makes my brain hurt.

        • whozat

…I’m sorry. That doesn’t make you right, though.

  • lily-bk

k we need some insurance runs , hughes was really shaky and i dno moe hasnt been as sharp either

    • JMK aka The Overshare

Ever watch the show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

      • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

        haha. good shit JMK

    • crapulent aka I said good day sir

      what the hell is dno?

  • Matt M.

They want to establish Joba and his confidence moving forward throughout the playoffs. Sending a message to the Angels that our bullpen is bout to make games 6 inning affairs

    • Spaceman.Spiff

Exactly. Since we got out of that inning, that was a good thing.

      • whozat

I’m pretty sure that, if the Angels are getting dominated by Andy the way the Twins were, they’d be happy to see him leave the game in favor of a young kid who has a problem with giving up free passes.

        • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

That young kid has pitched much better in October than he did in August and September.

          • Jersey

Three October innings versus 45 August and September innings. Sample size alert?

            • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

45 August and September innings vs. all the innings before that.

45 August and September innings is ALSO a small sample size. Don’t forget that either.

    • Joe D.

A potential series-clinching game is not the place to help someone establish their confidence.

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

When you have 3 games and only need to win 1, yeah, it kinda is.

  • slappy white

Of topic but still sweet….How great is it that Papelbum blew a 2 run lead to end his teams season ?

    • AndrewYF

We’re still talking about this? When the Yankees are on the brink of winning their first postseason series since 2004?

      • slappy white

        my hate runs deep

        • whozat

          Get over it.

    • JSquared

      Awesome.

      • Mouch “Half Man Half Couch”

I’m with ya Slappy. I hate Papelbum also.

  • alittleblackegg

I think Girardi’s decision was wrong too, BUT the appeal of going with your hard throwing BP after your opponents have adjusted to the soft tossing lefty is strong, right? Plus strikeout guys = less balls in play, less left up to chance.

    • whozat

Andy struck out 7 today, and Joba is also MUCH more prone to blowups.

    • alittleblackegg

      O’ captain my captain!

  • http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_S0CViLms5ys/Sd54tE5sVMI/AAAAAAAAAho/0fxSZIso2OM/s400/Swisha+House.jpg Kevin G.

Guys, George is having a party!

    • Upstate Nick

      I’m there.

      … NOT

  • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

My name is Andrew Santoro and I’m a whiner:

The Yankees manager, Joe Girardi pulls the starter too early.

  • Ivan

Well we can go either way with this arguement, fact is yanks still lead going to the 8th, so that’s what matters.

  • Joe D.

    “Productive Outs?”

How ’bout this: the Yanks lead all of baseball in Productive Homers.

    Asses.

    • mustang

      +1

    • Spaceman.Spiff

A-Rod is the career leader in unproductive homers however. OH WAIT.

    • Pasqua

Get ready for the postgame, when the Twins are credited with the “Most Near Wins” in the league.

  • MikeD

Pettitte would have been out there through the 8th as long as he was strong and pitching well, which he was. Removing him after 6.1 innings and 81 pitches was not the right move. He’s owned Minnesota through the years and he’s a big-game pitcher. I think Joe has done a great job with the pen the two years with the Yankees, but he does go a bit into over managing at times.

    Enough of that. Go Yanks!

  • JMK aka The Overshare

We’ve been swinging at garbage all night.

  • Swisha Claus

A theory: Mebbe Girardi isn’t overly concerned about the Twins at this point (I’m not), and wanted more data on Joba as leverage reliever for upcoming roster decisions. That or he’s dumb.

  • Vinny

    A “Jeter sucks” chant? Really?

    • mustang

      love the hate… more hate

    • JMK aka The Overshare

That’s pretty bush league. I was at Game 2 and there was a “Boston sucks” chant and I was a bit ashamed. But Jeter? Really? He’s about the most likable guy in baseball.

      • crapulent aka I said good day sir

Yes, at the end of the game going out there was a Boston sucks chant and I was a bit ashamed too. It blew my total high a little bit. Very bad form Yankee fans to act like the RS Nation.

    • baba o’riley

i don’t feel bad about (hopefully!) sweeping this team. any backwater minnesota hillbilly that chants “jeter sucks” certainly deserves to see their team get blown out. some day these jerks will be falling all over themselves in praise during jeter’s goodbye tour.

      • MikeD

…hopefully in about a decade, not sooner.

        • baba o’riley

          +2

  • Rob H.

it’s 2-1 and the comments are littered with people who are upset that Girardi went with his shut-down bullpen. It worked, yet you all are complaining as if the Twins took the lead.

    • Pasqua

The Twins did take the lead…in our hearts…

      [Raises boom box over head.]

  • cjc

hmm a jeter sucks chant now thats a first

  • Brazilian Yankee

Let’s hope Phil is up to the task tonight.

  • JSquared

Amazing how all of our groundballs go right to a fielder… There’s, the yankees usually have to chase.

    • JSquared

      Theirs*

  • cjc

    hope hughes is sharper tonight

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Hopefully Mo’s getting ready. First sign of trouble for St. Phil, yank him. Go for the jugular.

    • mustang

agree. then they can take those white towels and use them for something productive.

    • AndrewYF

Shit, remember when Mo was automatically the 8th AND 9th inning guy in the playoffs? Unfortunately he has aged, although I think he could still do it.

      • crapulent aka I said good day sir

        What?

  • lily-bk

can’t we have a nice quick 1-2-3 ining like that?

    • Karen

Dude yes, a few nice groundouts, a strike out. Let’s just get it OVER WITH.

  • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

    Were they chanting, “Jeter Sucks?”

    • JSquared

      Yeah…

    • cjc

      amazingly yes

    • http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/riddering/Baseball/reachforthestaaaaars.jpg Riddering

      You stay classy, Minnesota.

  • ansky

Wondering when the rest of this lineup is going to start hitting. Insurance runs would be nice.

  • Ivan

    Lets go Hughes.

  • http://theyankeeuniverse.com Moshe Mandel

It was not the right move. You want to limit the number of pitchers who throw in the game- you don’t want to search for the guy who does not have it that night. You could have gone Pettitte-Hughes-Rivera, there was no reason to add a pitcher to the mix.

    • whozat

Yep. And it looks like Hughes is that guy.

    • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

At some point, you have to wonder if Girardi can ever be right.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

You want to limit the number of pitchers who throw in the game- you don’t want to search for the guy who does not have it that night.

Is that statistically verifiable, or just a commonly accepted baseball saw that may be false?

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

Jeter once did a Top 10 List on David Letterman and it was things people don’t know about Derek Jeter and one was, “When opposing fans chant ‘Yankees suck’ it really hurts my feelings.”

    Hilarious.

  • JSquared

Let’s go punto… he has to be the worst player that is idolized…

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siYKRL4I3UA JobaWockeeZ

But he’s a baseball player who plays baseball the right way.

    • cjc

Hughes can’t stop this guy unreal

  • http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/riddering/Baseball/reachforthestaaaaars.jpg Riddering

Shit, Punto the Yankee killer is leading off.

  • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

Don’t walk Punto again, Master Phil

    • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

guess you got to mix it up a little more…

  • Ivan

    OMG!!! Im speechless.

  • lily-bk

    great hughes just fkkn great

  • Brazilian Yankee

    Phil can’t handle the pressure.

  • JSquared

So… let’s play no singles defense?

    lets go huuuuuuuuughesss.

  • Pasqua

i think hughes missed his sport on every pitch so far. he looks really bad

    • jkiv

      *spot

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Just go to Mo. Squash this shit before it gets out of control.

    • whozat

      It’s true.

That play was awesome, but it looks like we found Hughes, the guy who doesn’t have it tonight. Everything he gets in the zone is up.

  • Frankie

    sigh
Time to set up the DP and get Robertson in there.

Wow. They did it again. And by they, I mean the Twins.

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

      That’s so Jeter

  • Tony

    But.. bu.. Jorge can’t throw!

    10/11/09: Robertson > Hughes

      [/optimist

    • Swisha Claus

YES. Mo can rest for four days.

    • MikeD

      Yes.

  • Upstate Nick

I think that brings the series count of “Punto facepalms” for Ron Gardenhire to 3.

  • Peedlum

Jete shows his amazing presence of mind yet again. Twinkies have had some problems at second, Jeter has been a part of them. Awesome, awesome plat.

  • Keanu Reeves

How did Jeter make that play with an average UZR?

(Even though it wasn’t average this year)

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Well, I love Jetes, but technically, he didn’t really make that play.

Nick Punto made that play. Jeter just ate the ball and waited to see if someone would do something stupid, and someone did. Fell into our lap.

  • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

It’s amazing how many of you have no confidence in our team. Ya’ll wild.

  • Brazilian Yankee

So, do we trust Phil against Mauer? Or is it Coke? Or is it Mo?

    I hope it’s Mo.

    • Karen

I don’t trust Hughes against anyone after game 2. Can’t believe he’s in there. I’d have pulled him after the double.

      • Jackson

Good thing you’re not the Yankees manager

        • jkiv

he doesn’t look sharp at all. you don’t have time for him to find it. if a relief pitcher isn’t hitting his spots in a critical situation you get him out of there ASAP

        • ROBTEN

          Just to be clear…

          Joba stinks
          Hughes stinks
          and Girardi can’t manage

Do people realize we’re up 2-0 and winning this game?

      • JMK aka The Overshare

You wouldn’t happen to be the type to talk to your alter ego through the reflection of an office building window about erectile dysfunction, would you?

        Just checking.

    • MikeD

If it’s Coke, I’m getting on a jet and flying to Minnesota and punching Girardi.

      • MikeD

…but call for an ambulence, because Girardi will then kick my ass.

And, Girardi will probably be right.

People were bitching when Coke came in the other night, but it was the right move and Coke mowed Kubel down.

  • Karen

They still have a runner at first. Double Play here would be nice to avoid Mauer and further tense situations. These last five outs will be the end of me.

  • Frankie

So my guess is Joe G will brink in The Coke Man for Mauer?

    • Ivan

      Hells no, go to MO.

    • whozat

      God, I hope not.

      JUST GO TO MO.

      • Frankie

        Yeah, thankfully its Mo

  • Ivan

This would be Hughes last batter.

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

    Past a diving….oh. wait.

  • Spaceman.Spiff

Lol, I hope OCab tries to break his bat again.

    • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

      That’s mean

  • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

    who else wants a curveball?

    • whozat

If Hughes doesn’t want to throw it, then he shouldn’t throw it.

He’ll need it next year, though. Hopefully, he’ll still have a good one.

  • ShuutoHeat

    I’m a bit sadistic.

I LOVE WATCHING this Minnesota crowd and their facial expressions when the Twins get pwned repeatedly. There’s no apparent pain on these fans’ faces, but you know deep down inside they’re just hurting and they want to cry.

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

Twins: we would win if we could get past second base.

    That’s what she said.

  • Pasqua

    Mo, please.

  • AndrewYF

    Bring in Mo.

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Mo time. Don’t fuck around with Mauer.

  • JSquared

    God’s Pitching… Game Over.

  • dkidd

  • Brazilian Yankee

    Mo in. Absolutely right call.

  • danny

    may mo be with us.

    • Stryker

      +42

  • Vinny

How’s that for not over-managing the bullpen? Mo time.

  • Swisha Claus

Mo to close out the Metrodome.

    • ROBTEN

It should be a new rule. Mo closes out every stadium, whether there’s a new one or not.

  • Bob Stone

Thnaks Joe Girardi – Mo – Our best against their best with the game on the line. I love it.

  • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

I’m going to file this under “not an issue”

    • AndrewYF

      Nice.

  • Tom Zig

    Epic battle coming up

    • Jackson

I disagree, I think Mo is going to Mo him down.

      • Jackson

        See

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

        That.

  • Karen

Gotta go to Mo. If we lose, let’s lose with our best. Hopefully this will be quick and painless and we will be doing the champaign thing inside of 15 minutes.

Then we can figure out how to beat the Angels with half of our line-up not hitting.

  • AJ

Hey Joe, you’ve finally done something correct by bringing in Mo. Let’s let the Sandman rock the Twinkies to sleep.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

Yeah. You finally did something correct.

Well except for all those other things you did correct.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

So, you’re saying I should roll with the bullfighter look?

          Riddering likes her salsa spicy.

    • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

I’d die before I was drunk enough… shit, does that mean I’m gay?

  • mustang

Jeter’s agent on the phone right now with Cashman:

I though this be a good time to talk contract.

    • Swisha Claus

      Cashman: Thanks but no thanks.

      /Not Stupid’d

  • dkidd

look at jorge giving mo shit

  • danny

i shouldnt be nervous, but i am.

    • danny

and mo proves me wrong :)

  • JGS

    Mo >>>>> Mauer

  • JSquared

    Mauer Fail… !!

  • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

  • Dela G

    bye bye mvp

    too easy for mariano

  • Bob Stone

    Thank MO!

  • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

Classic, classic Mo. Broken bat groundout.

    Three outs.

  • Brazilian Yankee

Joey boy, that’s how a cutter tastes.

  • dkidd

    classic mo

    breaking bats, breaking hearts

    • Ivan

      And Breaking Balls.

  • http://twitter.com/hopjake Jake H

I wonder if Papsmear is watching Mo try to see how it’s done.

    • Bob Stone

He doesn’t have to. He already knows he’s the best – even better than Mo.

    • AJ

He’s too busy sulking right now because he blows.

  • Upstate Nick

    Vintage Mo

  • JSquared

    Runs please.

  • Dan S

Shattered that bat just like the Twins hope

  • Dave

Heh, remember when Cody Ransom was our starting 3rd baseman?

  • Ivan

God Damn that cutter was wicked.

  • AJ

Mariano Rivera – Breaking bats since 1995.

    • whozat

He should have started a bat company instead of a steakhouse.

Or, at least, invested in Louisville Slugger.

  • lily-bk

its horrible of me to compare but i just hope that during the nottom of the ninth moe doesnt pull a papelbon!

    • Bob Stone

Comparing Mo to Papelschmcuk is an insult to Mo.

      • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

        It’s an insult to comparisons.

      • ShuutoHeat

Comparing shit to Papelbon is an insult to shit.

      • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siYKRL4I3UA JobaWockeeZ

Yes and I expect the fury of Mo to be seen any moment now.

    • Upstate Nick

Well, here’s the thing… Mo doesn’t suck. And he’s also not a douche bag.

    • AJ

You watch your mouth sir! Such blasphemy can have dire consequences.

    • NYTraveller

No No No – you didn’t just say that!?

      Stone him! Stone him!

Please do not ever compare anyone, particularly that clown to Mo

  • ShuutoHeat

    Mo and the golden pitch.

  • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

I seriously don’t know why any of you people ever have a doubt or a fear.

    THIS TEAM IS THE BALLS.

    • http://twitter.com/tsjc68 tommiesmithjohncarlos a/k/a Ridiculous Upside

List of Yankee players OR managers on the postseason roster whom I do not have utter and complete confidence in to do their job well:

      1.) Jose Molina

      [end of list]

      • JMK aka The Overshare

You forgot Cody Ransom and Angel Berroa. Wait a second, I don’t see what you did there?!

      • MikeD

Wrong. Molina will (and did) do his job well. You of little faith!

        • whozat

Yeah, coaxing AJ into walking five guys and hitting two…masterful!

    • mustang

      Made of Steel.

  • MikeD

Running past its alloted time? Did they really think this game would come in under three hours? As is, it’s been a pretty quick game.

    • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

      must be the commerciales

  • JMK aka The Overshare

Has Damon even fouled a ball off yet? Holy fuck.

    • JMK aka The Overshare

      That’s progress!

    • crapulent aka I said good day sir

      just did

      • Vinny

        aaaand there it is.

    • AJ

I’d rather see Grit laying down a bunt and trying to run it out. Damon is worthless right now.

  • crapulent aka I said good day sir

JD is like STFU I have a pretty wife and a foul pole in my yard Chip you ass.

  • Vinny

Here’s hoping against the Golden Sombrero.

  • dkidd

how long longer does girardi stick damon in the two hole?

    /that’s what she said’d

    • dkidd

      much longer

    • Camilo Gerardo – your inception? fuck perception, go with what makes sense

which hole would you recommend for JD?

  • Brazilian Yankee

    Damon has to be hurt.

    • whozat

SHoulder thing? I think it’s a shoulder thing.

  • Bob Stone

C’mon guys – some insurance runs please.

  • AndrewYF

Amazing that the Twins didn’t go to their best reliever in this situation. Nathan must be truly spooked.

    • NYTraveller

Caray: Two solo home runs the sum total of the Yankee offense tonight (shakes head in disgust)

Two is enough when the other guys have one, dope.

    • ShuutoHeat

I heard he still rolls up into fetal position in the corner of the clubhouse from time to time.

  • JSquared

    and… Damon wants a contract… hmm… doesn’t look like it.

  • MikeD

Damn. Is Damon having vision problems again?

  • danny

    Damon :(

  • ansky

    Damon has been God-AWFUL!!!

    • AndrewYF

Well, so have Cano and Swisher. Are we going to worry about them too?

At least no one is 0-for the series.

  • Salty Buggah

    Ugly Damon…Ugly

Hope you show up in the ALCS

  • JSquared

    Ball 5 to Teixeira…

  • JMK aka The Overshare

We all still want to re-sign Damon? (For the record I do, but I’m curious to hear the thoughts of others.)

  • Vinny

Hope that foul ball hit Caray.

  • Ivan

    Cashman looks pretty fuckin calm.

  • ansky

How about some insurance runs just for shits and giggles?

  • Salty Buggah

They should IBB A-rod, even with Tex on.

  • http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0awG8jw7Ax5xR/610x.jpg Drew

4 days off couldn’t really hurt JD.

  • NYTraveller

    A little A-Rod insurance?
