Zoilo Almonte and Ray Kruml were promoted to High-A Tampa at the expense of Francisco Santana of Neil Medchill, who were sent to Low-A Charleston. Meanwhile, NoMaas checked in with Brett Marshall following his first start since Tommy John surgery. He said he was throwing 93-95 on Monday, and will likely head to Charleston after his start on Saturday. Oh, and Juan Miranda is on the disabled list.

Brandon Laird, 3B: 3 for 5, 2 R, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1 K – hit a three run homer & a grand slam … amazingly, it’s his second time he’s done that season … he’s up to 76 RBI already, 21 more than anyone else in the Eastern League and the most in affiliated baseball at any level (Mike Moustakas is second with 66) … he needs 25 more steaks to break the franchise’s single season record … RBI’s don’t tell us anything about his skills or serve any analytical purpose, but that’s an absurd total
