Triple-A Scranton had their doubleheader with Syracuse rained out. They’re not scheduled to play them anymore this season, so there’s a pretty good chance they won’t make these games up at all. Meanwhile, David Phelps will return from his rehab assignment and start on Saturday.

Both Double-A Trenton and High-A Tampa had scheduled off days. In fact, their entire leagues were off.

Short Season Staten Island is off until Wednesday for the All-Star Game, which will be played tomorrow. Four Yankees farmhands were named to the AL squad.

Interesting names on the GCL Yanks. Bubba Jones sounds like the name of a guy who could thump the ever loving hell out of a baseball.

  • Joe

How many Yanks end up on the top 30 list? Williams, Deluca are two definates.
    Mitchell? Culver? Gumbs? Gamel?

While many 1st rounders stare at the clock, NYY top pick @Dante19jr has played 42 gms for GCL Yanks and is hitting . 338/.452/516.

I’m no pitching expert. Far from it… But the only time or two that I watched Mark Prior pitch earlier this year, I was extremely impressed.

In the unlikely event that he can get healthy and stay that way in the post season, it wouldn’t surprise me if he turned out to be an amazing asset.
