Game 84: Get Greedy

The Yankees have met their minimum requirement. Realistically, they had to come into this four-game series and manage at least a split to make sure the Red Sox would gain no ground on them in the standings this weekend. Two games in, they already have their split. It’s time for the Bombers to get greedy and create even more separation with Boston. They’re already ten games up in the loss column, time to make it eleven. Here’s the lineup…

I want to sweep the entire series and kill any hopes the Sox had of winning the division
Toronto loses. So unfortunately, the Red Sox will not have last place to themselves today.

Count me in for being greedy. I’m wanting the series sweep to widen the lead. Tampa has issues with Longoria now out indefinitely. Baltimore is making a play for Greinke, and they have the prospects to make it work. Boston is down now, but never out. Toronto is what they are.
Hughes needs to be aggressive against this lineup and not regress. He’s come a long way to this point. This will be a further boost to his confidence. A commanding win in Fenway.
Offensively, we should be able to handle Doubront.
I’m guessing 7-2 Yanks win.

He also has a much better supporting cast. Manning has turned Nicks from a very good receiver to an all pro receiver and Cruz from a 4th receiver to a stand out. Romo has great receivers who ever is throwing them the ball.
Romo plays a different type of offense than Eli and the Giants Wr Options where the QB and Reciever read the defense and decide the rout to run. Eli has mastered it, could Romo?
I honestly don’t know. I mean I’m not a Romo so idk what kind ability he has to memorize an entire team’s defense and be able to call it out on the line.

There was a sharp Ortiz single to right, a reasonably hit double to the wall for Ortiz and the hard hit single between SS and 3rd by Mauro (that to me was the killer as it was on an 0-2 fastball)
That and the smash to Cano that he turned the DP on is about all I can remember.

yes it is, but seriously Girardi managed himself out of the possibility of doing so. I understand hindsight is 20/20, but anybody who thinks bringing Wade in was a good call is either a Girardi homer or plain silly.
