Romine scratched from Triple-A start due to stiff back
ByVia Kevin Oklobzija, catcher Austin Romine has been scratched from his start with Triple-A Scranton tonight due to a stiff back. Mike Vander Woude notes that the backstop is expected to return to the lineup tomorrow.
Romine, of course, missed the first half of the season with a back problem and just returned to Triple-A after spending several weeks rehabbing in the low minors. He’s been having back trouble since 2011, so anytime something like this comes up you have to be concerned. What a miserable season for Austin.

*sigh*
Being an expert on backs via The Sopranos I’ve come to the conclusion Romine is a rat.
+1
Shut it down, get healthy for 2013. Athlete or not, when it comes to the back don’t mess around. Just get better.
Seems chronic.
We used to seem so deep at the C position
Hiroki Kuroda: The Most Likely to Hirok
And at 1st base for your SWB Yankees Austin Romine.
If he can’t play C, he better at least play 3b, if he’s a 1b he’s a non-prospect.
He doesn’t have the bat to be a corner infielder does he?
I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see both Martin and Stewart back next year.
Speaking as someone who has reoccurring back problems, I bet traveling and spending hours on a bus isn’t doing his back any good.
So, Austin, ever play outfield growing up? How do you feel about 3B?
