Bird homers in Charleston’s blowout win

By

RHP Preston Claiborne was sent to High-A Tampa, not Triple-A Scranton according to Nicholas Flammia. That allows the Yankees to call him back up one day earlier, next Monday instead of next Tuesday.

Dellin!! Amazing to see his turnaround in the pen. Would have been nice, of course, to see him flourish as a starter, but I guess with his body it was a bit of a longshot. Good to see that he’ll at least be in position to contribute out of the pen next year.

    • Havok9120

We’ll need him. Lots of holes to fill.

It really is kinda awesome. I’ve certainly enjoyed it.

      • MannyGeee

This is literally the only reason I came into DoTF today. To say exactly this.

We needed something out of the investment in Dellin, and if its finally starting to click out of the ‘pen, then he could be a really nice piece for the big club in 2014.

Wonder what they do about having two true shortstops in Staten Island… can’t imagine that Avelino is already on his way to Charleston since he’s been at SI for just a short amount of time and it hasn’t been a numbers explosion there. Surprised Gosuke wasn’t called up since he’s been fantastic and Toadvine at second isn’t really a prospect.

    • W.B. Mason Williams

Maybe they’re going to genetically mold them so that they can combine experience and go immediately to AA.

That way we can have Tabi Wadelino to go along with Austin, Sanchez, Williams and Heathcott in 2016 as the new core.

      • Cool Lester Smooth

        What? That’s impossible?

        CASHMAN FAILEDD!!!11!!!1

      • Robinson Tilapia

        TABI WADELINO!!!!!

        MannyGeee’s never heard of him.

        • MannyGeee

          How…. how did you know?

          You’re a dick, Tilapia…

      • Charlie in SD

Comment of the year. I can’t stop laughing. One of the many reasons why DotF is my favorite.

    • Mac

Only a few games left in the season.

  • hogsmog

Wooo five at bats and no Ks for O’Neill.

    • Havok9120

      Progress!

  • trr

100 walks impressive for a young player!

    • Pro

I’m not sure why we are talking about his walks more than his homers.

  • Robinson Tilapia

If Greg Bird gets to 100 walks, does Kabak have to sleep with a goat?

    • MannyGeee

no, but he should have to eat a belt or something?

  • dkidd

    save the three tylers!

  • Wayne

Why does’nt joe let David Huff replace Hughes. It is worth a shot at this point!

  • Wayne

Gosuke Katoh keep doing what you are doing man!

  • MannyGeee

Decent line on Stoneburner last night. Besides this game, how’s he been looking lately? (again, the fact that I visit DoTF three times a year means I am asking a question I should already know the answer to. I fucking get that, just humor me…)

    • Mac

MiLB.com has the 10 most recent games at a level listed on player profiles. Click on the boxscore or go to milb.com. In Stoneburner’s case you’re only getting his last two starts before yesterday. Ks were up last two starts, but overall performance wasn’t. Held his own in AA this season. It’s a level he first reached in 2011, though.
