Nunez headed for MRI on right knee on Thursday

Eduardo Nunez will have an MRI on his right knee in New York on Thursday. He tweaked it after catching a spike and falling on Tuesday night, but it got worse during pre-game warm-ups on Wednesday. The Yankees are already thin on the infield thanks to Jayson Nix‘s injury, so losing Nunez to the DL again would create some problems.

Nunez is made of peanut brittle.

    He’s also a klutz.

  2. Nicky says:

It could have happened to anyone. Especially on that ridiculous turf. But it just looks so much worse because it happened to that scatter brained Nunez.

  3. Darren says:

I feel bad for Nuney, but considering he said that he thought he broke his knee, I’m not surprised it’s still an issue.

Makes Jeter career long durability even more impressive.

  4. wyldebill says:

Time to quietly ask Seattle to put Brendan Ryan on waivers, then claim him. No stick, but he’s the best defensive SS alive, so could certainly handle 2B/3B.

  5. JLC 776 says:

The biggest downside to Nix playing is the potential of hearing Sterling’s ‘Nix-Knock’ home run call.

  6. Frank says:

I’m betting he has a sprained knee, at minimum, and will be out 2-3 weeks.
