- Among others, the Yankees interviewed both Rangers hitting coach Dave Magadan and Athletics hitting coach Chili Davis for their open hitting coach job. The Red Sox have since hired Davis. The Yankees are also said to have some interest in Dante Bichette, Marcus Thames, and James Rowson. The new hitting coach could be in place by tomorrow.
- The Yankees are strongly considering Omar Minaya for some sort of high-profile front office position. The Astros hired special assistant Trey Hillman away from the Yankees and named him their bench coach. Rays GM Andrew Friedman left Tampa Bay for the Dodgers.
- Rob Refsnyder was among the top prospects in both the Triple-A International League and Double-A Eastern League. Gary Sanchez also made an appearance on the EL list.
- The Hiroshima Carp are undecided about posting ace righty Kenta Maeda this offseason. Cuban second baseman Jose Fernandez has defected.
- The Yankees have spoken to Alex Rodriguez about playing first base next season.
