Triple-A Scranton was rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on July 5th.

Double-A Trenton was also rained out. The makeup date is TBD. Just one game tomorrow.

High-A Tampa (3-1 loss to St. Lucie)

  • SS Abi Avelino & 2B Tyler Wade: both 0-4, 1 E — Avelino struck out once and committed a throwing error … Wade struck out twice and committed a fielding error
  • CF Dustin Fowler: 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K — threw a runner out at third
  • 3B Miguel Andujar: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 SB
  • LHP Chaz Hebert: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 2 WP, 5/8 GB/FB — 54 of 91 pitches were strikes (59%)

Low-A Charleston Game One (4-3 loss to Greenville) completion of yesterday’s game, which was suspended due to rain in the second inning

  • SS Jorge Mateo: 0-3, 1 HBP
  • 2B Angel Aguilar: 0-4, 3 K — in a 5-for-34 (.147) slump
  • RF Austin Aune: 0-4, 2 K, 1 E (fielding)
  • LF Alex Palma: 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 K
  • RHP David Palladino: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, 2/1 GB/FB — 18 of 25 pitches were strikes (72%) … pitched yesterday before the rain
  • RHP Matt Wotherspoon: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 HB, 3/2 GB/FB — 55 of 83 pitches were strikes (66%)

Low-A Charleston Game Two was rescheduled for Monday. They’ll play a doubleheader that day. The game wasn’t rained out or anything, they just shuffled things around following the suspended game yesterday. Maybe the park wasn’t available this afternoon or something. Whatevs.

Short Season Staten Island (11-10 loss to Tri-City in ten innings, walk-off style)

  • RF Junior Valera: 4-6, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 4 RBI, 2 K, 1 SB
  • SS Kyle Holder: 0-6, 3 K
  • 2B Thairo Estrada: 1-3, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 E (throwing)
  • 3B Drew Bridges: 0-2, 1 R, 3 BB, 2 E (both fielding) — 6/9 K/BB in nine games so far
  • RHP Chance Adams: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 4/0 GB/FB — 23 of 38 pitches were strikes (61%)
  • RHP Josh Roeder: 2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, 1 WP, 2/1 GB/FB — 24 of 34 pitches were strikes (71%) … blew a four-run lead in the ninth

Rookie level Pulaski was rained out as well. They’re going to play a doubleheader tomorrow.

Rookie level GCL Yanks1 (6-5 win over GCL Yanks2 in ten innings, walk-off style) going to lump the two teams together again

  • DH Yancarlos Baez: 0-3, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 CS
  • SS Yonauris Rodriguez: 0-5, 3 K, 2 E (fielding, throwing) — signed for $575,000 back in 2013
  • 2B Griffin Garabito: 0-4, 1 BB, 1 K
  • LF Dominic Jose: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 3 SB — last year’s 24th rounder is the son of former big leaguer Felix Jose … Dominic barely played in three years at Stanford but is a really good athlete the Yankees hope to develop with more playing time and instruction
  • RF Cesar Diaz: 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
  • CF Terrance Robertson: 0-2, 2 K — this year’s 12th round played five innings in his pro debut, almost certainly by design … the Yankees almost always ease the high school guys into things
  • LF Trey Amburgey: 1-4, 1 K, 2 SB
  • 3B Donny Sands: 0-4, 1 K
  • RHP Vicente Campos: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 4/2 GB/FB — nice rehab outing as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery … I wonder how long before he joins an affiliate, probably High-A Tampa
  • RHP Claudio Custodio: 1.1 IP, zeroes, 1 K, 2/0 GB/FB — another scoreless outing for the recently converted position player
  • RHP Juan Escorsia: 3.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 6 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 1/2 GB/FB
