Tampa Yankees are heading to the High-A Florida State League All-Star Game: RHP Andury Acevedo, RHP Angel Rincon, OF Danny Oh, RHP Jonathan Holder, 3B Miguel Andujar, 1B Mike Ford, SS Tyler Wade, and C Kyle Higashioka. Congrats to all of them. Here are the full rosters (PDF link). The All-Star Game is on June 20th.
Triple-A Scranton‘s game was suspended due to fog in the fifth inning. They’ll finish the game tomorrow. Here’s the box score if you can’t wait that long.
Double-A Trenton and Low-A Charleston had scheduled off-days.
High-A Tampa (3-2 loss to Jupiter)
- DH Abe Avelino: 1-4, 1 K, 1 SB
- 2B Gregorio Petit: 1-2, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB, 2 E (both fielding) — played eight innings and that was probably their plan
- SS Tyler Wade: 0-4, 1 K
- 3B Dante Bichette Jr.: 1-4, 1 R, 2 K, 1 E (throwing)
- CF Michael O’Neill: 2-4, 1 2B — two hits in four of his last five games
- RHP Ivan Nova: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 12/0 GB/FB — 55 of 72 pitches were strikes (76%) … he was on an 80-ish pitch limit in his first official minor league rehab start … he hit 94 mph on the gun according to Nick Flammia
In case you’re wondering, the Short Season Staten Island (June 19th), Rookie level Pulaski (June 23rd), and both Rookie level GCL Yanks (June 22nd) teams start their seasons relatively soon. Those rosters will be chock full of 2015 draft and international prospects from the last few signing periods.
