Flashing Back to Game 1 of the 1996 ALCS
Scouting The Free Agent Market: David Freese

In his weekly Sunday Notes column, David Laurila passed along a quote from Andrew Miller praising Alex Rodriguez. “You hear our hitters talk about his insights, whether it’s pitch sequencing or lineup matters. Whatever it may be, Alex has a really advanced grasp,” said Miller, among other things. Make sure you check it out. A-Rod has always stood out as an incredibly smart and instinctual player. Now that Barry Bonds has a big league coaching job, I can’t help but wonder if Alex has a real chance to remain in baseball as a coach or manager after he’s done playing.

Anyway, here is tonight’s open thread. The Rangers and Devils are playing (each other), plus the Nets are in action and there’s some college basketball on the schedule too. Talk about those games, A-Rod’s awesomeness, or anything else right here.
