Bryan Mitchell started and struck out two in two scoreless innings. He looked pretty sharp. Jaron Long and Nick Goody both threw scoreless innings and both Matt Tracy and Branden Pinder threw two scoreless innings each. The relief prospect formerly known as Mark Montgomery allowed the only run on a long homer by Xavier Paul. Here’s the box score and here are the video highlights. - Nathan Eovaldi, Andrew Miller, and Ivan Nova all threw bullpen sessions today while Andrew Bailey and Justin Wilson faced hitters in live batting practice. Masahiro Tanaka is scheduled for a two-inning simulated game tomorrow and will make his Grapefruit League debut next week, reportedly Thursday on regular rest. [Chad Jennings]
