11:25pm: The MRI revealed a Grade I calf strain and Teixeira could be out anywhere from 1-2 weeks or a whole lot longer. Calves are tricky. Rosters expand on Saturday, so I bet the Yankees play a man short for the next three games (they’re off Thursday) rather than place him on the DL.
11:03pm: Joe Girardi said that Teixeira will not play the rest of the series and is unlikely to play in the next one as well. So a full week, basically. Just dandy.
8:50pm: Teixeira has been diagnosed with a left calf strain and is headed for an MRI. Hopefully we get an update later tonight.
8:23pm: Mark Teixeira left tonight’s game with an apparent left leg injury in the fourth inning. He was flexing his lower leg (calf?) during his at-bat — Joe Girardi and trainer Steve Donohue checked on him — but remained in the game. Teixeira drew a walk and ran the bases, but he was limping noticeably as he chugging around third on Russell Martin’s run-scoring single. Stay tuned for updates.
