- The Yankees promoted scout Tim Naehring to vice president of baseball operations. He will replace departed assistant GM Billy Eppler as Brian Cashman’s right hand man. Scout Eric Chavez left the Yankees to join Eppler with the Angels. Cashman reached out to ex-Red Sox Ben Cherington about a front office job, but Cherington declined.
- A right-handed bat will be on the team’s offseason shopping list. Korean first baseman Byung-Ho Park will be posted today while third baseman Jae-Gyun Hwang has asked to be posted. Cuban righty Yasiel Sierra threw a showcase for interested teams recently.
- Andrew Miller won the 2015 Mariano Rivera Award as the AL’s best reliever. Mark Teixeira, Didi Gregorius, and Brett Gardner are all Gold Glove finalists.
