Phil Hughes to start Thursday

By Joseph Pawlikowski

Figured we’d throw this up, just for good measure — though it made its rounds about an hour ago.

Phil Hughes will start vs. the Blue Jays on Thursday at Yankee Stadium.

As you can probably figure, Ben, Mike, and I are thrilled.

And it begins.

Oh, as I am typing this, A-Rod just hit his 13th out of the park against Tampa Bay. 1-0 Yankees, top of the 2nd.

Mike A. says:

Halle-frickin-lujah!!!!

About f’ing time. Too bad he misses the Sox. Now millions of people will be watching their fantasy league waiver wires.

sam says:

You guys like Hughes or something?
Maybe he replace Igawa in our “rotation”

Ben says:

Maybe I could replace Igawa in the rotation. The last time I pitched, by the way, I was 10.

ShawnT says:

hey guys can u put up an article on igawa so evrey1 can bash him, for being such a crapy pitcher.

Joseph P. says:

ShawnT, consider it done.

Too bad he misses the Sox.

I’m fairly positive he is missing the Sox on purpose. Karstens is going with an extra days rest on Friday specifically so Hughes can pitch on Thursday.
