You’ll never believe what I just heard

By Joseph Pawlikowski

Pavano is hurt.

He has what Torre is describing as “forearm soreness,” though we’ve heard that one before (like Mariano last year). Rasner starts in his place, Henn starts for Moose on Tuesday.

Give the ball to Phil!

Is this a surprise? I mean, with spring training and two starts under his belt, Pavano’s thrown more in six weeks than he has in two years. Of course, he’s going to be sore. He’s using muscles harder than he has in a long time. I’ve gone through this at the beginning of the season. It’s a legitimate forearm problem but it goes away pretty quickly. Better now than in September.
