I had a coach in Little League who threw that pitch.
I couldn’t hit anyways, and about once a week he’d break that out…
Sparky Lyle at Old Timer’s day used to throw that pitch a few times, and he’d REALLY get strikes with it, not that bogus call
The Red Sox just paid 50 million for him and signed him to a contract worth another 50 million over 8 years.
Theo has already said he’d be delighted if he posted a 4.50 era for them and Sawx nation acknowledged they’d give him a standing O everytime he left in the fifth inning after 120 pitches and 5 runs allowed.
Well played YFiC. Well played indeed.
HACKS!!
Hey Joe
I got a question… i read a ton of blogs, i watch almost every game, how come everyone points out this and that abotu the yankees but no one points out the fact that only one other player in that “great” lineup is on pace for at least 20 homers besides Arod.. and that guy happens to be our 36 year old catcher… Doesn’t that scare anyone else? I mean the yankees don’t have one guy besides Arod and posada with a good shot at 20 dingers.. maybe thats the cause for their inability to score runs when arod doesnt hit one out… Show me Shelley already!
Marc,
It’s all about the OBP, man.
Also, a good calculation for how many runs a team *should* be scoring on the season is Team AB*Team OBP*Team SLG. Yankees are right on target with 391 runs scored.
Unfortunately for us, the Red Sox are lagging in expected run production. They should have scored around 386 runs, but have only scored 369.
