Oregon State spanked UNC 11-4 to take a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-3 College World Series Finals. Jorge Reyes outdueled fellow freshman starter Alex White, and Joe Paterson nailed the win down with 2.2 innings of solid relief. If I’m UNC coach Mike Fox, I throw Rob Woodard tomorrow on 3 days rest; you just have no idea what Luke Putkonen is going to give you. OSU counters with Mike Stutes and very rested bullpen, save Paterson.
