DOOMSDAY!
ByWang didn’t even finish a full inning today, giving up six runs in .2 innings of work. He threw 32 pitches to what I’m guessing, from PeteAbe’s account, was 11 hitters.

Wang faced 10 batters. Looks like 5 singles, 1 double, 2 walks, 1 sac fly, and 1 undetermined out.

Sorry, the box score says Wang had 2 flyouts. So Wang didn’t get any ground outs.
if i had to guess, i would guess that Wang was working on his other non-sinker pitches.
Yeah, I’m hoping he was working on the ol’ change.
Trade him! Sign Lohse! Why didn’t we get Santana! Bring back Clemens! Ok, maybe not the last one…
get rid of him, let igawa start opening day
CM-WTF?!
Rasner game up 4 too. On the plus side damon has 2 hits but the other 8 yanks dont even have 1.
Scott Patterson looked great though! Put him in the bullpen.
I really like Patterson ‘s wack job delivery
Yikes. I know it’s just spring training, but I’ll feel a lot better once Wang has an outing in which his sinker actually functions. It hasn’t since the end of the 2007 reg. season.
It wasn’t working at the end of the season either
this is all Melky’s fault.
Amen.
Wang’s sinker was working in his last ST game.
Patterson is a dark horse candidate for the pen. Girardi seems to use him to get out of jams.
Really? I must’ve missed that outing. Good to hear.
here it is:

Tomorrow’s top story: Obviously Wang hasn’t recovered from his horrible failure in last year’s ALDS.
Scott Patterson has to make this team. Once again he pitched well, this time stranding two runners in the first. His inherited runners stats last year were great, he throws strikes, and works off his fastball. Mark him down for a spot in the pen right now, they need a guy like him.
I’m in.
maybe Phil didn’t find his velocity in Tampa, but rather he stole Wang’s velo! oh no! i knew that Hughes kid was bad news… Bucholz may steal laptops from young children but Phil steals velocity which is wayyyyyyyyyyyy worse
One spot will probably go to him Bruney, Britton, or Veras… Patterson looks like a good choice to me unless Bruney can somehow learn to stay in the zone.
I dunno. With only 3 spots open (assuming Mo, Joba, Kyle & LaTroy make it), in keeping w/ Girardi’s stated preference for a long man (Karstens) and a lefty (Traber), that leaves only one spot open. Right now, I’d go w/ Ohlendorf.

anyone surprised they had Austin Jackson starting in left? is that an insurance policy for matsui and damon?
I love the dripping with sarcasm comments on this one. Obviously Wang is horrible, will never pitch well again, everybody has his sinker figured out, should have traded him for Marte (maybe we still can?), I really think he’s just pissed he didn’t get a big contract
