Wednesday’s first pitch to be thrown out in space

By Mike Axisa

I’m not kidding. NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman with throw out the first pitch before Wednesday’s game against the Red Sox from the International Space Station. The Parsippany native has a Yankee banner, some dirt from the pitcher’s mound at the Stadium, and a George Steinbrenner autographed hat keeping him company as he spends the next 3 months up in the final frontier. Only the Yankees.

Next thing you know we’ll have Andrew Brackman helicoptered down to the mound in his MLB debut at Yankees Stadium.

Joey says:

That would be pretty awesome. Or maybe years from now when Cap’n Jetes, Mo, and Jorge are retired they will skydive down along with Bernie and Paul in a diamond formation landing around the pitching mound.

Just about to post that and thought about that Space Jam movie with MJ. Those 5 (above) landing on an alien spaceship in the outfield. Classic.

I’m not your father! I’m just a guy getting 15%

15? I thought it was 10?

Jamal G. says:

LoL, Classic. I think Joey missed out on that one. ;)
