By Joseph Pawlikowski

Just to rib the people involved in the Jake Peavy discussion, here’s something you can keep in mind when spelling his last name.

maybe the Padres could trade him to the Mariners for Washburn and Ibanez.

Joseph P. says:

That is a better comment than I ever could have asked for. So, in your spirit, steve:

I enjoyed this comment.

FL Yank says:

Maybe they could bring Gibson out of retirement

Just got off the phone with CashMoney… we just traded Kei Igawa to the Diamondbacks for some kid named Doug Fenderstratocaster.

FL Yank says:

I wonder if there’s a player named Les Paul or Paul Reed Smith on any of the team’s rosters or minor league affiliates.

Joseph P. says:

No, but there used to be a Paul Stoner Smith

Something tells me he’d be fun to chill with.

Jack says:

Search for Les Paul:

Search for Paul Reed Smith:

So, no it doesn’t look like it. The closest is a kid named Lester with the middle name Paul.

Malcard89 says:

LOL!!! obsessed-guitar-player here, excellently done!

Mike P says:

I’d trade the farm for that Peavey. It’s got grit and will clearly perform in the post-season. And it’s more valuable than a Hanley or Anibal.

Mike Pop says:

But whats a Peavee ?

radnom says:

My goodness, that Peavey thread is a shit show.

radnom says:

Also, we can absolutely not even consider trading for someone that goofy looking.

T-Dizzle says:

yeah hes goofy lookin but still really good pitcher so u gotta get him if the price is right

jsbrendog says:

this was much needed.

i hope this has been duly ntoed by those in the previous thread.

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

You seemed to be getting a little “peaved”.

Steve (diff one)
Where did you go?
I answered your questions and you escaped to this new P-E-A-V-”E”-Y thread?

that thread was getting too hard to follow. i lost your response.

i’ll go back now.

Bo says:

The Peavey has a better shot of pitching 7 innings in the AL East.

Adam says:

how about Greg Peavey, a guy the janks drafted in the 24th round in 2007?

Jamal G. says:

Don’t joke about that. If I’m not mistaken, that was a sign-ability case the Yanks were not able to ink.

Baseballnation says:

Peavy forearms are manly like Giambi’s Stache.

Mike A. says:

Peavy could replace something else Giambi is good at too.

Thomas says:

I am surprised no has just called him PV. We could have a rotation with CC, PV, and AJ.

the peavey looks like it won’t break down in 2 years. can’t say the same for the peavy…

Interestingly, when you go to Wikipedia and type in “Peavey”, it includes a link to a page for… Jake Peavy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peavey

Wikipedia’s so smart, it’s smart enough to compensate for your human stupidity.

Andy In Sunny Daytona says:

If you happen to buy the 66″ peavey, make sure that you buy a replacement 66″ handle. You’ll thank me later.

Brad K says:

Obviously if Wiki has it then Jake has been misspelling his name all along.

Steve S says:

that headline can be very misleading.
