So what did CC do in his spare time this winter?

By Mike Axisa

cc-tattoos

The first pic is from Milwaukee’s final game of the regular season, when CC clinched the Crew’s first playoff berth in a quarter century with a complete game four hitter (but you know, he’s never pitched well in a big game). The second pic is from Saturday’s John Harper column. So I guess we know what CC this winter, besides losing what looks like a ton of weight.

A.D. says:

I’ve never gotten the desire of the full arm tattoo

andrew says:

hmmmm… this is interesting… don’t really know what to make of it

Drew says:

I love how people get star tattoos. Next they should get glitter permanetly implanted.

ExpiredMilk says:

I love tats but the flames seem unoriginal

Let’s set the over/under on Bud Selig saying that Sabathia should wear long sleeves at all times so his tattoo isn’t distracting to the batters at 3 weeks.

I’ll take the under.

Rich says:

Today’s tattoos are tomorrow’s full employment act for doctors who perform laser surgery.

Yankeegirl49 says:

Not necessarily…actually those that get them removed are in the minority of those that have them.

Noel Bielawa says:

I am having a tattoo removed now , it ain’t cheap! it will cost me 10x the cost of the tat itself. Just think long and hard b4 you get one!

steve (different one) says:

that tattoo looks expensive, CC should really save his money.

This question has already been answered.

The real question is how the hell did he fit that tattoo into his already crammed schedule.

Manimal says:

Its his pitching arm too, maybe its more deceptive.

A.D. says:

hes left handed thats his right arm

Joey H says:

Well, If I had 161 million dollars, A tatt would be towards the bottom of my list.

if I had 161 million dollars, I’d probably make it to the bottom of my list, so, yeah, I’d probably have a full-arm tatt as well.

… I’ll be discussing this on my radio show tonight.

(I keed, I keed.)

Mike A. says:

Ah, the ol’ Tom Gordon look.

Tom Zig says:

Seems like everyone but phil hughes has lost a ton of weight this season.

rafael says:

They were all on steroids.

dan says:

every last one of them

Spaceman.Spiff says:

The guys who come in “slimmer” are all former juicers that have been scared into quitting in fear of getting caught tested. The guys who come in “bigger” and “stronger” by adding X pounds of muscle are all the guys who’ve given into steroids and are starting to use them. Everyone knows to escape steroid suspicion completely you must be the same weight and size from age 20 till 35. Duh. Never mind the fact that some PEDs don’t increase muscle mass that much or that you can get bigger just through old-fashioned lifting. Everyone does the eye test first, then backs it up with the “numbers test”.

Chris says:

Or you can use the Britton method for getting bigger: lifting jelly donuts.

Artist formerly known as 'The' Steve says:

Yeah, apparently Phil came in at his lowest weight since HS last year. So in his case, the extra weight is a good thing.

oscarazocar says:

cannot wait to watch CC take the mound every fifth day. the guy is a horse. if burnett can stay on the mound, 4 out of the 5 starters should give us 200 innings. Good news for the bullpen. I am excited about our pitching.

Chris says:

I find it interesting that a full arm tatoo is ok, but a neatly trimmed beard is not.

Mike says:

I guess there’s worse ways that he could’ve spent the off season.

ClayBuchholzLoves Laptops says:

Like being charged for DUI?

barry says:

shooting up strip clubs…

Yankeegirl49 says:

Guess Im in the minority, but I love the ink!

Joe R says:

I have two sleeves. I also enjoy the artwork.

LB says:

I wonder how painful that was.

Joe R says:

The shoulder/bicep area isn’t as bad as parts on the forearm. Especially on the inner forearm. He’s a meaty guy though, so it probably wasn’t all that bad. Depends on your pain threshold really.

Joseph P. says:

Inside of the upper arm and up at the shoulder joint hurt, too.

Marcus says:

I think that it looks terrible, why would he do this, it makes him look trashy

Yankeegirl49 says:

I am a true “girl” when it comes to pain. I wanted one tat since I was 15..the NY logo. I went in and out of tat shops for 15 years, chickening out every single time. I finally got it when I was 30..the NY on my calf. I now have 6 more..none that can be seen unless I want them to be seen. None of the pain was unbearable..more annoying than painful.

Mike Pop says:

I have a pot of gold, it can only be seen if she wants it to be seen.

Troy says:

I absolutely despite tattoos.

Joe R says:

Yankeegirl49 says:

Different strokes for different folks.

JM says:

Why….. They look pretty bad. I don’t like tattoos. I think they loo stupid. Doesn’t he have to wear a navy-blue arm-band now because the Yankees make you block tattoos?

JM says:

Oh, I almost forgot. Doesn’t this kinda make him look like LeBron now?

JimmieFox says:

Yeah tattoos are often tacky, trashy or both.

Marcus says:

This actually kind of pisses me off
