CC tosses simulated game
ByAs Mike mentioned yesterday, CC Sabathia’s scheduled simulated game was postponed until today. That happened a bit earlier, and CC threw 28 pitches in two “innings” to Hideki Matsui and Kevin Cash. He’s working on his cutter, which he says takes a while to get into a groove. Other than that, it’s just Spring Training business as usual. CC will make his spring debut on Friday night, which unfortunately will not be broadcast on YES. The following day’s game, featuring Chien-Ming Wang, will air on the network, as will tomorrow’s Phil Hughes start.

Three innings for the Phranchise tomorrow, right?
Does anyone know how they decide which games to televise? I wish they would’ve put CC on tv, i definitely wouldve tuned in for some of that.
And why don’t they show more?? If the ratings are so great why not give us what we want!!!
Melky is 2-2 with a triple and 2RBI so far today…Good to see him finally get a pulse going.
I thought he was gonna lay down and give the starting job to Gardner. Good to see.
I sure hope he keeps it up..
Does anyone know, since he’s out of options, can he start the season in AAA? If he isn’t given a major league roster spot will he be placed on waivers?
He would have to clear waivers to be sent to AAA.
I’m going to the game CC is pitching…b/c of the simulated game will he be able to throw three innings (around 35/40 pitches?) or will they keep him at two?
Per Pete Abe…UPDATE, 1:39 p.m.:”Jesus Montero’s groin strain apparently is not too serious. He was dressed and wanted to go on the road trip today. The Yankees held him back, however.” -Good news.More good news is that Posada is DHing today and he is currently 1-2 with a hard hit RBI single.
Great to see he’s got taht swing back–now I just want to see him catch.
