Ohh… the days of Tyler Clippard
ah, those halcyon days of yore …
Nice game for Ajax! No k’s even.
Maybe it’s time to find a way to get Rodriguez up here as the 4th outfielder, he used to be a useful bat in the bigs at least he’d bring a little pop and patience to the role.
Nice to see Romine heating up again.
yeah, 8 total bases is very nice
Absolutely. Can’t have enough catchers, a good hitting catcher who can field his position adequately is worth his weight in gold. Even if we don’t use all of them, they’re very attractive trade bait to address other needs.
always a good thing when your top 3 minor league positional players combine to go 9-14 with 5 doubles, a homer, 4 runs, and 9 RBIs
Jesus Montero makes me smile.
Hey guys, looks like Dellin was placed on the DL. Also any news on Suttle and Heredia?
what’s going on with betances?
I’m assuming that it’s probably sore shoulder. I remember him missing time around the same time last season after a bad few starts down in Charleston where he had no control thanks to a bum shoulder.
if it’s a shoulder, not good
They did the same thing with him last year. I suspect its a visit to Nardi University to address his control, but they’ll never admit that.
Is Hector Noesi a legit prospect or just a possible middle reliever?
He’s been one of the best surprises of the season this year. Just outstanding. A bit old to be in Charleston (22) but he missed some time due to a positive drug test.

BTW-His Cube page is available for $10 a year. Could be a good investment if he makes any noise as a prospect.

Tell me again why Angel Berroa is on this team and Shelly Duncan isn’t the power bat off the bench…that can play 1b, and the corner OF positions as well?
Because Shelly Duncan can’t hit anything that isn’t a fastball.
He’s no Cody Ransom
I was going to say the same thing. If anything I’m wondering why isn’t John Rodriguez, Colin Curtis or Edwar Gonzalez up here before Berroa, Jorge Vasquez or even Reegie Corona would be better options.
Romine is heating up in the past week. That slugging percentage is definitely on the rise. I wonder what’s the last word on his defensive game at catcher. We’re all familiar with the possibility that Romine has a better chance to be Posada’s heir b/c he doesn’t profile to lose athleticism as he moves up the ladder. But is Romine showing superior defensive actions than Montero at this point ??
