Starting pitching going deep into games & close games. Coke, Hughes, and Aceves are clearly the A relievers right now, and for good reason.
Still, though, you have to work them in sometime. You just have to.
It’s analogous to Cody Ransom starting tonight. Sure, you wanna trot the A lineup out there every night, but you’ll run your starters into the ground and turn your bench into piles of rust.
Yeah you do, and I’m sure they will, or else if this maintains some reliever will be sent down. Coming out of the break they’ve had bit of a rarity of a bunch of close games and everyone being rested up out of the break.
Bruney has been terrible and its too risky to bring him in in close games (which the Yanks have only played so far).
I think Robertson deserves more trust but he was rocky his last time out in LA.
Melancon is still young and will get his time but he is not gonna be first in line from the BP.
I think the games have just been too close of late. 2-1 every day. I personally would like to see Bruney get his work in. Having him back to form would be a UUUUGE boost.

Yup. After Luke Scott and Eric Davis II, that offense is no great shakes. Markakis and Roberts are solid but pretty pedestrian this year, and with Huff and Mora slumping badly, four of their 9 lineup spots (C/SS/1B/3B) are pretty punchless.
3rd in HR no? Anyway, I just remember the April O’s where Roberts/Markakis/Jones were hitting everything we threw. But you’re right they’ve come back down to earth.
