? Robertson threw 19 pitches last night, and was at 25 pitches tonight. It was the right move to pull him, and getting the platoon advantage was just a bonus.
Yeah, meaning he’s not going to pitch again for several days. He can throw 5 more pitches. At the VERY LEAST you do not bring Coke in again. He’s getting Torre’d.
They’re up 7 runs. You don’t use a member of “The Circle” or whatever Girardi calls his mental crutch.
Some people just need to find something to complain about.
I know, doesn’t matter at if if you burn out your bullpen in meaningless spots facing a stretch of 18 straight days with games. NP.

I was at the D-backs Phillies game last tuesday when Dan Haren was pitching against Cole Hamels and I ended up sitting in the same section as all of the players girlfriends and wives. Surprisingly…none of them were good looking. It was a huge let down.

I don’t think anyone had a problem with Melancon pitching tonight. The problem is the general trend of using 4 and 5 pitchers for no reason every night. Notice how Boston has given up 13 runs but will have their entire bullpen fresh and available tomorrow. This is sloppy/dumb management our of Girardi.
I was fine with Coke throwing two pitches to get Ortiz and get out of the inning. But I am completely flabbergasted with him coming out to start the seventh, let alone – my god – pitching all the way through it!

I think Girardi’s strategy was to use Coke (part of the circle) to get to the point where the “1 run here, 2-runs here” type of offense doesn’t bite them in the $$$ by the time the 9th rolls around…. As long as Melancon is somewhat effective, I expect Bruney or even Clagget if their lead gets bigger.

We’re trying to tire out the sox hitters by walking all of them.
Just went to look at the pitchfx data for Joba and Smoltz, and it was interesting. The ump was consistent, yes, but he took away a six inch box on the outside corner to righties/inside corner to lefties. So, unless the ball was several inches above the knee and several inches IN from the edge of the plate, it was a ball.
That’s just impossible. It means the slider is basically useless unless you’re trying to backdoor it. No one has to swing at anything heading towards that half of the plate unless it’s thigh high.
So basically Joba pitched a lot better than it looked like on TV?

I have spent a lot of time researching verizon internet through fios and the cable tv and satellite company options available. Would anyone out there feel that cable could actually be better than Verizon Fios internet? Is just seems that there is no way to compare between the available options based on the pure speed of the network and setop box funtionality for managing your viewing.
