Jason Johnson was released. The poor guy just couldn’t stay healthy.

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

    Montero come back!

  • pat

Haha why the change in title Mike?

    • http://www.riveraveblues.com Mike Axisa

      This one was more appropriate.

  • Accent Shallow

    Wow, you weren’t kidding.

  • Johan Iz My Brohan

Well, at least Cody Ransom’s back… oh wait.

    • http://twitter.com/themanchine Bruno

Hence, the title of the thread.

  • Accent Shallow

I have hope that one of Brewer/Grote can be a solid corner OF in the future.

  • Buffalo Ed

    what is kevin Russo’s ceiling??

    • Johan Iz My Brohan

      Utility man.

      • whozat

offense first, though, I think. So, decent at 3B and 2B, not great at SS, but not a black hole with the bat either.

  • Jeffrey

A lot of these rookie pitchers seem to be having good outings. Who are the most promising to watch?

  • http://www.puristbleedspinstripes.com Rebecca-Optimist Prime

Y’all saw the get well soon card I got Montero?

    El le gusta el español.

    • Dela G

      • Jersey

Is Lester standing in a puddle of his own urine after soiling himself?

        • Bryan

  • Matt L

This is not meant to be insulting, but DotF sucks since Montero went down. There really doesn’t seem to be a huge name playing at an elite level.

    • Johan Iz My Brohan

Cody Ransom is interesting to watch =)

      • JMK

Ever see the videos of poor Russian kids doing building-jumping? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg7CaJvvYFk&feature=related

Think Cody Ransom would consider a career change from mediocre baseball player to GREATEST BUILDING JUMPER OF ALL TIME?

I’d pay for the ticket to Moscow.

    • whozat

There’s still Jackson. Though he’s been merely OK lately. Still a very good season, though.

    • JMK

I guess you haven’t heard of a guy named Andrew Brackman.

  • A.D.

I dunno, Juan Miranda’s 2 doubles are pretty exciting.

  • Steve H

This is what happens when you don’t have the organization like the Red Sox. They have about 15 Montero’s in the system, so when one goes down, he’s not even missed. A Sox dotf was posted once and the whole internet crashed over the greatness of the farm system.

    • Mike Pop

They have bat boys as good as Romine.

    • King of Fruitless Hypotheticals

hard to win when your three best hitters all take an 0-fer

Hey Ax…just talked to Epstein, he says quit quoting him…

    • swishcheese

Was this a serious post? I can only hope and pray that Bard and Buchholz become cornerstones in the Sox organization!

  • Miles Roche

Whoa, when reading the title, I braced myself for a rash of injuries or some downright putrid performances. You had me scared there for a moment, Mike.
    Shame on you. . .

    • http://twitter.com/themanchine Bruno

    • emac2

I’ll admit I scrolled down to Trenton before reading anything else.

      That’s just plain mean!

  • A.D.

The name change scared me that someone went down late

  • http://twitter.com/Hopjake Jake H

Without Montero all I have to look forward to is McAllister pitching and Romine’s line.

    • JMK

No interest in Vizcaino, Banuelos, Jackson or Igawa?

      • Mike bk

no one has interest in igawa, but there are others to follow at least on the pitching side. Warren, Phelps, DJ Mitchell, Bleich.

        • JMK

The Igawa was a joke. I’m not so keen on Bleich, though.

  • Angelo

Banuelos is reaching 100 innings and is only 18 so he’s pitching out of the bullpen the rest of the season, which well….sucks.

Jackson isnt having a great season, but is still good to pay attention to.

    Arodys rocks…

Igawa is the greatest pitcher ever, so at least we have him.

  • yankeewanabe

jaxkson might need two yrs in s/wb and get s.o. down

  • JohnC

2 more scoreless innings for Manny Barreda. How serious was Arodys’s back injury?
