NLDS Game One Thread: Cardinals @ Dodgers
ByEarlier today the Phillies rode the left arm of Cliff Lee to a win over the Rockies in Game One of the Division Series, and now it’s time for the other NLDS to get underway. The Dodgers will start lefty Randy Wolf (11-7, 3.23) at home, while the Cards will counter with Comeback Player of the Year winner and Cy Young candidate Chris Carpenter (17-4, 2.24). If you’re an ESPN Insider, you can check out KLaw’s series preview here. If you’re watching the game, feel free to chat about it here.

I used to have espn insider but it really didn’t give me anything special. I just dropped the insider. I go to fox sports for my sports news now. I’m going to pay for scout.com next because I feel it’s superior in the minor league coverage than espn could ever give.
Take everything scout.com says with a grain of salt.
Are any of the MiL sites completely trustworthy?
I don’t know, I don’t have a sub to BA, I just kinda make my own assessments from all the info that’s available over the web. Don’t get me wrong, pplus is a great site that provides tons of info but he gets a little over optimistic with his evaluations. Seems like eeeeverybody flashes a plus curve and change, eeeverybody’s fb has tons of movement.
Really? I didn’t know they weren’t trustworthy. What’s a good site to pay for that has great minor league info on the Yankees then?
BA is good.
Thanks. Baseball America is good.
With any luck, the guy taking over for Chad Jennings on the Scranton (AAA) beat will be half as good getting interviews and info.
Mike Ashmore is in the same league – works tirelessly, gets a lot of info.
Way back when, I always liked Frank Piliere when he was on scout.com. Now he’s on Saber-scouting – dunno how that site is for Yankee coverage – it’s a general scouting site
So why isn’t Kershaw starting this game?
i think he pitched on sat so it would be short rest. he is going tomorrow.
base hit with carpenter pitching and it might be over already.
wow ibb to albert w 0 out in the first.
That was a gorgeous DP.
That was some double play turn.
Matt Kemp is a beast.
Kemp destroyed that thing.
I really can’t root for Carpenter for some reason.
He’s my favorite non-Yankee
Dude wins Comeback Player of the year every three years. What’s not to like?
James Loney: gorgeous swing, but apparently wildly overrated.
.399 SLG out of 1B = not good.
Six homers in Dodger Stadium the last two years. One this year.
No wonder the fans got so excited that Loney flied out to deep right.
And people wondered why they tried to obtain Victor Martinez and A Gonzalez.
Power shortage at the end of the season? Loney had his highest split SLG of the year in Sept/Oct at .455.
Rasmus really hit that rookie wall, huh?
.216/.278/.314 in the second half.
Best mustache in baseball: Brendan Ryan of the Cards.
It’s Barbershop Quartet quality.
I just saw a Michelin ad on the side of RAB.
Did it make you want to get ripped in four weeks?
That throw be DeRosa was the worst throw ever in the history of throwing.
It sure wasn’t good
As Stockton said, he had Ethier at home if he threw it there.
Scully’s doing radio on KABC – I feel like muting TBS
part of that might have been derosa getting his throwing hand stepped on and cut on the bases.
Juuuust a bit above Schumaker.
Holy crap – Joe Torre loves him some Jeff Weaver in the playoffs
This is almost funny now.
Did I just hear the Jeopardy Daily Double horn?
I’ll take “Anal bum cover” for 7,000
You’ll rue the day you’ve crossed me, Trebek.
Yes, yes you did.
Thank goodness. I thought I was going batty for a second.
The pitching in this game is atrocious on both teams…
Ahhh, Arli$$.
so where do i tune in to see the Carpenter is not an ace discussion tomorrow? or is that only for NY pitchers?
The Dodgers fans are putting those in YSIII tonight to shame.
Thank you. The Stadium tonight was pathetic IMO. I saw a lot of suites and ties in the lower levels either on their cell phones or golf clapping in big moments. It really made me sad.
