NLDS Game Two Thread: Rockies @ Phillies
ByReigning AL Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee shut down theĀ Rockies in his first career playoff start yesterday, giving Philly that all important 1-0 series lead. Cole Hamels (10-11, 4.32), last year’s World Series MVP, will toe the rubber in Game Two of the NLDS today, matching up with Aaron Cook (11-6, 4.16). Cook is just two starts removed from missing over a month with a shoulder strain, but he’s allowed just 10 of 48 batters faced to reach base since returning. First pitch is set for 2:37pm ET on TBS, so go ahead and chat about it here if you’re watching.

Let’s go Rockies !
That was a crap play.
I’m a big fan of the young Fowler/Gonzalez combo the Rox have. Rox have a very solid young core that should be interesting for the years to come.
They had a really good draft, too.
Yeah, their young pitching looks very bright with a good amount of promising AAA guys and some more in the lower (even more so from this years draft). Very well run organization.
These fans are gettin pretty screwed. Two day games in a row? Yay for being a large market team.
And we think a 6:00 starting time is painful (which it is; I have to leave work early tomorrow to get to the game).
philly is a large market team my brotha
5th largest city in the country
True true, they’re actually 6th but you’re right. Too bad Denver is 24th. LA + St.Louis > Philly+ Denver
I’m going to link myself here, which I rarely do, just because I want Posada to get some credit for last night’s start by CC.

Nicely done Moshe. Just wondering where you found the breakdown of what pitches were thrown for the 3rd strike. I could find how many times each pitch was thrown for a swinging strike but not what the outcome was. Did you find it online somewhere or just take notes while watching?
Went back to Gameday and looked through it. I wish there was another way.
Does anybody know?
I may have missed this over the course of the hundreds of posts in the game thread last night, but whatever happened to those mini “NY” logos in the top right corner of the post that showed whether or not it was a new post?
With the playoffs, there are a lot of comments so the site slows down with that plugin so RAB took it off to allow the site load normally.
They disable them when there’s going to be a lot of comments because they take up a lot of bandwidth and slow down thread loading considerably.
I was wondering the same. Maybe they got rid of them because of page load time and/or server problems, but that is only a guess.
Lets Go Rockos!
Carlos Gonzalez = Awesome
I’m surprised they didn’t PH the Giambino.
OMFG. Miguel Cairo is on a playoff team!?
and getting an AB in the bottom of the 9th while down 1. Wow. How times have changed. Jerry Hairston > Migue Cairo.
Like to see the Yanks target Seth Smith in a trade this offseason.
The Rockies have a glut of corner OFers and this guy can rake while being an above average defensive LFer.
what happened to Happ? Bad?
Took a liner around the knee area. It’s gonna be swoll up tomorrow.
[...] First pitch is scheduled for 6:07pm ET, and as usual you can check it out on TBS (TNT until the Phils-Rox is over). Posted on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at 6:00 pm in Asides, Game Threads, Playoffs. [...]
