Thanking those behind the scenes

By

Winning a World Championship takes more than just 25 guys and a manager. It takes smart player development, hordes of both pro and amateur scouts, countless medical personal, plus many, many more. Bob Elliot spoke to Yanks scouting director Damon Oppenheimer, who noted the way GM Brian Cashman took the time to pop champagne and toast everyone who made this thing happen after the last out was recording Game Six. Buster Olney talks about it even more in his blog post today, and also mentions all the contributions the team got from those behind the scenes during their title run.

They’re both great reads, so make sure you check ‘em out.

Who is the real 2009 Yankee MVP

Mike Mussina Think about it. If he comes back, the yankees don’t resign Andy !!

Think about it if Mike returns its CC, Bernet, Wang, Mike and Jaba.

I think we all know Mike 20 game season wasn’t going to come close to repeating in 2009 . His non return was the 4th biggest move to set up this season, behind the 3 signing.

Mike on 3 days rest game 6 hummmmmmm no thanks

Peter Gammons made a quick mention of Cashmans graciousness as well in his column today. Then his computer spontaneously combusted.

Mussina and Giambi were both through. One knew it-the other didn’t. What an upgrade from Giambi to Texeira!!!

Mussina could easily have pitched this season. I was sort of hoping he’d have done a July signing type thing and pitched down the stretch.
