The first 100 members get pie.
Well I was number 36, do I gotta come to Daytona to get pie?
That’s the only catch….and that the pie is mincemeat.
A.J. Burnett style?
I was one of the first 10
You have and will always be top 10 material, Rebecca.
Now, as a top 10er, it is your responsibility to invite all of your Facebook friends to join as well. Why should only my friends think I’m insane?
Is “Jesus Kasundi Montero” THE Jesus Montero?
No, that’s Jesus’ brother, Jesus. He’s a catcher in the Cardinals organization.
Jesus(Yankee)is actually referred to as “Burul” by his family.
If Romine puts something like a .280/.350/.480 line in AA this year, will he start shooting up prospect rankings?
Of course he would. What a silly question.
Dude he’d be like top 20 in all of baseball.
I would go nuts if he put up those numbers. Absolutely nuts.
So Mike, could Reegie Corona supplant Robinson Cano by 2011?
I’m not Mike, but I can answer this.
Absolutely not.
Exactly what I was gonna say. Reegie is a utility guy at best. Those are useful and nice to have when they’re home grown and cheap. But he sure as heck aint no Robbie Cano.
What’s the deal with Russo? Is he utility as well?
At best.
I’m pretty sure that, with a little effort on your part, you could answer all of these questions yourself. Not only has Chad Jennings talked a good bit about these guys at LoHud over the last several weeks (since he watched them every day in his job as the SWB beat reporter), but I’m sure that Mike’s talked about these guys here as well. Search is your friend.
I’m bored. Just looking to initiate good conversation and banter about prospects, etc. Can’t get that in an article. Tired of reading about the same guys. Montero can hit, i get it. Jackson can also hit, i get it. Dunn can’t hit the broadside of a barn, i get it.
By the way, I am not familiar with some of these sites. Thanks for the info whozat.
This is the best one-

Gives ages, minors stats majors stats all sorts of good stuff.
Thanks Pat.
This very blog has an extensive list of other sites to read on the right of every single page. They’re even conveniently categorized for you.
Would that be a pie in the face Andy?
Have you ever been hit in the face with mincemeat pie? That pie has some density to it.
Why not Pat? Is Reegie not the real deal to you?
Hahaha, no sir, not even close. Much akin to the case of Colin Curtis, a few good weeks of Fall ball do not erase a poor poor career in the minors thus far. 262/.338/.342 in 2500 plate appearances isn’t going to replace .306/.339/.480 from 26 y/o Robinson Cano.
How old is Corona? Also, do you think anyone will take a flyer on Curtis in the Rule 5?
http://tinyurl.com/yfe48qu
Somebody might take a flyer on Curtis, it really doesn’t cost much at all. Maybe someone thinks his power surge in the AZFL is a sign of things to come. It can’t hurt I think it only costs like 50 grand or so to pick someone.
I hope someone does. I highly doubt Curtis will stick on the roster all year so the Yanks will end up profiting by $25,000 in the end. It’s not a lot but it’s something.
Isn’t it $50K? And you have to pay $25K to get a guy back?
Yea, so the Yanks profit by $25,000 like I said.
I could see them not taking him back and just keeping the $25K.
Well, yea I guess they could. Then, $50,000 is even better I guess. I think they might take him back so they can trade for another Hairston/Hinske-esque deal.
The trade idea would make sense, too. He should have more value then the guys we traded for Hinske.
Yes, I heard he changed his stance and overall approach at the plate. Could be a fourth outfielder somewhere.
Does anyone know Jesus Montero’s real facebook profile? I REALLY want to add him.
I’m friends with Keven Russo.
Kevin*
Vowel fail.
I don’t think he’s on Facebook. If he is, it’s double secret Facebook.
I heard he didn’t want any friend requests, so he’s listed under “Kevin Youkilis”

Question based on “not what you say, but how you say it.” Has:
“Ivan Nova’s been SHUT DOWN!”
or
“Ivan Nova’s been shut down.”
?
shut down as in he’s not pitching anymore.
Shut down as in they sent him home.
Gotcha, thanks.
I’d much rather hear “Ivan Nova has pitched a shutout.”
There was a game last night in the Puerto Rican League, the score was 14-1 in the 7th or 8th inning, and 13 of the runs were unearned.
i didn’t know (italian shortstop whose name i can’t remember) was playing in the prl
