Banuelos scratched from first start
ByVia Josh Norris, Yankees’ top pitching prospect Manny Banuelos was scratched from today’s start for High-A Tampa for an unknown reason. I suspect it’s injury-related, but that doesn’t mean it’s something serious. He could have the flu or something. A promotion to Double-A to take Chris Garcia’s rotation spot would be a) absurdly aggressive, and b) completely unnecessary since Trenton has Lance Pendleton (second in the system last year with 26 starts and 149 IP) in the bullpen. Hopefully it’s nothing major and he’ll be able to make his next start.

Plus, MAshmore is reporting Lance Pendleton is starting Tuesday.
So Banny is probably injured.
Thanks for the heads-up on Pendleton. IIRC, he was still pretty raw when he drafted and then he missed some time due to injury. I am hoping there is still some upside left he if he builds on his solid performance last year.
maybe he needs tjs and comes back in a couple years throwing 95?
/weird thing to hope for’d
:Sacrifices a goat & a chicken to baseball gods:
Is Garcia the goat, and Banuelos the chicken?
If something serious is wrong with Manny I might cry.
Hopefully nothing more than a flu or something minor. He is 19 and in High A ball, if he can have 140-150 IP of solid pitching he is going to be a legit top 50 prospect considering he is a lefty with room for growth.
Patrick at Pinstripes Plus heard that he had an appendectomy. All things considered, pretty good news.
Hopefully it’s nothing more serious. I mean we saw how quickly Jack on LOST recovered from one of those procedures…
