Banuelos hit around in Peoria
ByAzFL Phoenix Desert Dogs (15-1 loss to Peoria)
Brandon Laird, LF: 0 for 3, 1 HBP
Jose Pirela, DH: 1 for 3
Manny Banuelos: 3 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 4-1 GB/FB – 40 of 64 pitches were strikes (62.5%) … opponents are hitting .355 off him … the Arizona Fall League isn’t kind to pitchers, no it isn’t kind at all

It’s encouraging to see the K/BB numbers this time out as well as last time.
;_;
>:(
YOu can’t live and die with numbers in an extremely hitter-friendly instructional league. It’s not like he’s trying to put up numbers to impress the org, he’s probably got instructions he’s following about things to work on.
Yeah I’m sure they gave him a pitch, or two to work on during the summer. I wouldn’t worry about results at all.
Ouch.
What is it about the AFL that makes it a hitters’ league?
Warm air, small parks and tired pitchers?
What is it with lefty control pitchers getting knocked around these days?
Hopefully Manny Banuelos turns out to be Cliff Lee’s non-union Mexican equivalent.
not too worried about the ManBan. After AzFL he goes home, maybe rests a little, gets ready for Spring then we see him light it up in AA
