A-Rod hires a new agent, for whatever reason
ByVia MLBTR, Alex Rodriguez has hired Dan Lozano to represent him for all baseball-related matters. Remember he canned Scott Boras late last year. I’m not quite sure why A-Rod needs a baseball agent now, he’s signed through 2017 and seems unlikely to sign another contract after that. Although I suppose there are union and league issues that the game’s highest paid player must deal with, and that’s probably what Lozano is taking care of. Maybe Nick Swisher put a good word in for Lozano.

Arod wants revenge, quick hind the bats
if this cat can get Arod another 10 yr deal he’ll be worth his weight in gold!
Gold currently costs about $23k per pound, so assuming he’s 200 pounds all he needs to do is get ARod a $4.6M deal to be worth his weight in gold.
I wonder what he’s paying the guy. As I understand it players usually pay a fixed percentage of their contract to agents. Presumably Boras is still entitled to that from Rodriguez for the duration of the current contract.
My guess is A-Rod was jealous of all the media attention Jeter has been getting lately and wanted to try to get some of it back his way.
He needs someone to get between him and the Hollywood blondes that are calling?

A-Rod hired William Morris a couple years back to represent him in all matters not baseball related. That would certainly cover endoresement deals and, in fact, I would think that would be a primary focus for a firm specializing in entertainment. So either he recently fired William Morris agency (doubtful) or he does need a baseball agent to handle some baseball-related matters.
