Bobby Valentine disapproves of the final out of last night’s game.

The Yankees further buried the Red Sox with last night’s win, but more importantly they gained a game on the Orioles and maintained their lead on the Rays. With eleven wins in their last 16 games (.688 winning percentage), the Bombers are pretty much right back on the pace they set from the start of the first Oakland trip through the start of the second (33-13, .717). A win this afternoon knocks the magic number down to just 37. Here is the starting lineup…

DH Derek Jeter
1B Nick Swisher
2B Robinson Cano
RF Andruw Jones
3B Casey McGehee
CF Curtis Granderson
C  Russell Martin
SS Jayson Nix
LF Ichiro Suzuki

RHP David Phelps

This afternoon’s game is scheduled to begin a little after 4pm ET and can be seen on FOX. Enjoy.
