A-Rod day-to-day with sore left foot
ByAlex Rodriguez is day-to-day with a sore left foot after fouling a ball off the top of the foot in his final at-bat last night. He won’t be available at all today. It’s swollen and right now he’ll just ice it and receive treatment. No tests are planned and it’s unclear when exactly he’ll be able to return to the lineup. It’s probably worth noting that the Yankees are due to play four games on the turf in Toronto this weekend.

Doom!!! Implosion and corrosion! OH NOS!
Let him rest a couple of days, bring him back verus Boston and call it extra rest for an aging slugger.
I thought A-Rod used to wear something over his front foot to protect it againist stuff like that.

well, yeah, no shit. that’s what they’re doing.
I didn’t see where it says they’re giving him four days off, as I implied, in the above article. Can you be a doll and point me to that?
Boo hiss.
A-Rod hasn’t hit well the last couple of days, maybe a day or two off to rest and work on some stuff in the cage could help.
Well at least this puts Dickerson in LF and not Ibanez. Would have been nice to have a 3 game lead with 8 to play which would have been virtually insurmountable but I guess we have Girardi to thank for that. Hopefully CC can bail him out today. Wonder if Joe is plotting when he’ll take CC out in favor of Cody Eppley.
Why wouldn’t he be plotting when he’ll take CC out for cody eppley? what’s the alternative, winging it? flipping coin?
How about letting the starter get out of the jam? Last night, Phil get a SO and then is pulled in favor of Boone Logan to face a guy who hits well vs lefties! And Span hadn’t done anything vs Phil during the game. Good thing CC usually gets through 7 so it shouldn’t be an issue with him going today.
On topic, boys. Enough bitching about last night.
Additionally…is Eddard arguing with himself? I’m confused.
dude, i think you just found the glitch in the Matrix.
I knew I should have just taken the blue pill.
My mind = blown. I wonder how many people here actually do that via switching handles back and forth. If you’re gonna do it, do it right…hide yo ass!
besides being very avg. he gets hurt all the time. oops. AM i not allowed to say that about the great Arod. He gets beat inside on 90 mph fastballs. Deep fly outs are now considered successes. He at least is old, cano just sucks…I forgot Cano had 3 hits last night and after all he is up to 80 rbi’s only 14 behind the inept CUrtis Strike out on any offspeed in the ground pitch Granderson.
They may not have 1 player with 100 rbi’s, what a collection of underachieving old men……
And he’s BACK
Man if you think scoring the 2nd most runs in all of baseball is underachieving, you’re probably not gonna enjoy baseball too much.
This?
putting logan in last night was the right move, he just sucks….
the guy let 4 straight lefties get on base and he is our best lefty out of the pen, that is scary…
How is he the best lefty out of the pen? Rapada is clearly better lefty on lefty, as an overall pitcher you can make a case for Logan, but with 4 lefties coming up in a row Clay should be the guy going forward
Before reinforcements in the form of Phelps and Joba, we were indeed using Logan as a non-OOGY. Logan IS the better overall pitcher, but there’s no denying that his lack of rest is taking its toll (re: last night).
When you compare the two as LOOGYs, I’d say Rapada wins. This of course is just an eye test, for all I know Logan’s BAA lefties could be lower than Rapada’s. Even if Logan is the better LOOGY, its surprising that Joe would throw him in AGAIN.
I blame this injury on the steroids.
if he never did Steroids, he would have hit that ball forward. I follow…
Rapada walks way to many batters. He is far from a lockdown lefty who fields like brandon moss.
off topic AND about 10 hours (and 2 threads) late.
