sweet rally.
With one swing of the bat Ichiro can equal the entire team’s offensive output in the last 20 innings. There’s no other hitters I’d rather have up there right now.
The Yankees need a big crooked # here.
Sorry about that, the comments always get wonky when I have to delete comments because of imposters.
Ah, okay. I was getting confused with all the Troll stuff.
http://riveraveblues.com/2012/.....nt-4839672
because I need to make sure Greg sees this.
That is true. I apologize.
I think I actually like depressed Greg more. I’d rather cheer someone up than witness constant battles of irrationality.
Agreed.
FUCKING ICHIRO!!!!!!!!
ICHIRO! he is the MVP of the week.
ICHIRO!
Fucking Ichiro. En fuego doesn’t even cover it.
?????!
Apparently WordPress doesn’t like Japanese characters…
Or any other ones. I tried Arabic characters one time, same result.
WordPress… Obvious racist.
Ichiro is just amazing right now!
Ichirooooooooooooo
I envy Mariners fans who got to watch this on a nightly basis.
Holy Ichiro!!!
vintage ichiro!!!
Best trade Cashman ever made, period.
who did we give up again? Some “B” pitching prospect and some cash, right?
But DJ Mitchell is a future ace.
With Sam Pearce as a close second.
One more try: have you all seen this outrageous Cervi video? LoHud linked to it today- just insane.
http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play......d=24871751
I saw it, had no idea Cervi was such a funny dude! CC’s cameo is gold!
my wallpaper is a shot from two spring trainings ago; frankie’s making a goofy face and jorgie is cracking up.
he’s an omega dog who keeps everybody loose. but, yknow, chris stewart. yeah.
I’m slowly chipping away at it between innings. Very entertaining so far.
Where’s the guy who kept screaming about the bad trade Cashman made?
I was one of them, and he’s currently proving me wrong.
hitting .900 on the series.. that’s just amazing.
So in steps Jack Parkman, who’s hitting just over .900 against Vaughn.
Ichiro against the Jays: 9 for 10
Everyone else: 8 for 59
(could be off on the 59 by one or two)
Ichiro is tons of fun to watch right now.
Ichiro 9 hits in 2 1/3rd games. Andruw 9 hits in 3 months. Ichiro should be the everyday left fielder, no further debate needed
Can’t spell Ichiro without hiro.
Damn, that was lame.
It was ichi.
Ichiro unbelievable. The wonders of SSS. bye bye Laff-able.
Jeter has a rather LARGE sample size of excellence.
Ichiro has nine straight hits, and six straight against LHP.
Swing the bat dude.
Damn, thought Ichiro broke RAB.
Break. It. Open.
two hits off of arron laffey…this team is garbage…2 runs…throw a parade
arod and cano…. have 0 rbis..
..ike davis would have had 12….
10-0 Giants.
Nice start!
defense is TOUGH.
Captain!
JEETS!!!
Jinx you owe me a beer?
Mine posted first so you owe me the beer.
Fine. But you have to drive to DC for it.
I don’t have a car, plus the night live in NYC is better, you should come up here, me, you, R-Tils, Erica, and Havok(if you live near here) can get together.
Well I will be in Jersey for 4-5 days around Thanksgiving. I have Thanksgiving off by default, and I already used a vacation day for the day after to make it a 4 day weekend. Just discovered today that I also have an unused “personal day” that I will probably end up using for the day before Thanksgiving to make it 5.
Although night life in DC is sweet too. Nothing like getting wasted downtown and roving the monuments.
JEETS!
Jeterian
Keep ‘em coming.
38 year old Derek fucking Jeter people.
Partying like its 1999 around here.
Just make it 8-2. We were due for a blowout. Freddy needs to stretch his legs.
Wish granted.
Time for swish to break out
Swisher please get a run in.
LOL live look in from Gameday and the audio is a full 2 seconds ahead of the video.
I remember the Texas one.
When did Swish hit the other grand slam?
Well, I remember this one as well.
The big comeback against Boston. No one saw it because FOX cut away to show the end of Humber’s perfect game.
That’s right.
No wonder it was so easy to forget. Thanks.
I saw it. When we were down like 10 or 15?
Garbage time.
Toronto’s bringing in the mop!
oh sheeeeiiitt SWISH!
SWISHALICIOUS! I’M CALLING GRANNY!
THE GRANNY!
GRAND GARBAGE TIME SWISHALICIOUS SLAM!!!!!!!!!
Garbage. Time.
Loving the offense.
Swisher makes it Garbage Time(tm)!
now that’s the offense we like to see
Love it when he does that.
the shimmy?
MWAHAAHHAAHA! SWIIIIISH!
Of course he hits a grand slam after I finally bench him in fantasy. But still, FUCKING YES!!
Rally Killing GrandSlam
Fuckin’ rally killer.
Ok Swish, you’re forgiven!
Swisher blows it open. He was one due dude…
Love that at the same moment Swisher hits a Slam, JPP hurts himself after almost intercepting a pass.
Dude has the audacity to pose a garbage time shot like that after being garbage for 68 at-bats.
enjoy your last month in NY, Swisher
The entire lineup (until Ichiro this series) has been slumping. It’s not like Swisher is choosing to be ineffective right now.
The entitlement of this fanbase is unbelievable.
And I’d LOVE to hear who you would replace Swisher with?
That seemed like sarcasm to me, dude.
Nah, Cuso is an avid Swisher hater.
I don’t think it was. Cuso has a longstanding hatred of Swisher.
^^Wow, seriously? What a joke of a comment.
SwisherGT!!!
Nick Swisha
Hope we can see Warren and Melky v2 this game.
Garbage time is the best time.
That’s my line!
My bad, yo.
Garbage time ended when Wade came in!
Now this is Yankee Baseball folks.
But I thought that by the end of the second inning we’d already reached the consensus that we couldn’t hit Aaron Laaffy and made him look like Cliff Lee?
Well they had all of 2 hits against him. (both by Ichiro)
Did they really hit him?
What inning is it? Did they get him out of the game and get 8 run off of him and bullpen? I think they succeeded in taking care of Laffee
Perhap I misread the obvious anti-trolling strawman creation. Which is getting almost as annoying as the Eddard’s and Stuart A’s of the world.
“I guess we couldn’t hit Laffey…. the trolls are wrong!!! Aren’t strawmans great!?!”
They had 2 hits off the guy. They did well to draw walks and force him out of the game, but let’s not lose track that they scored 7 runs on 3 hits that inning (2 of which weren’t against Laffey)
you drive a pitcher from a game in the 4th, you did a good job even if you don’t score a single run. this is how the good offensive yankee teams operate. get to the starter or get him out of the game early. it’s a formula they’ve been doing for years, just not as successfully this year. Sorry to rain on your negativity, but I’m tired of hearing people complain all the time, especially when the yanks are winning after just scoring 7 in an inning and I’m entitled to my opinion just as much as you are.
Who was complaining when they were up 7?
I’m tired of these dumb strawmans which just further feed the trolls. It’s almost as predictable as the nuts coming out of the woodwork when the Yankees are losing.
I was just pointing out that they were hardly hitting Laffey around. You CHOSE to take this as a negative comment.
yes, and as i said, i’m entitled to my opinion, pointing out that they worked him out of the game by the 4th inning.
You were just trolling… You created a strawman to mock people.
You are entitled to your opinon. Where did I say you weren’t? I was just pointing out you rather poor attempt at trolling the trolls.
haha. i did no such thing. i’ve been handtius here since the first year of this site. you can follow my link to my personal website. i’m not hiding and i don’t troll. i’m just tired of the negativity taking over these game threads and i choose to combat it my way. sorry if that isn’t to your liking, but this is how i cope with the expectations of the young, never saw a bad yankee team, fan.
-zen baseball
Sorry it was Rocky Road… the initial commenter got lost in the reply tree (my trolling comment was in reference to that statement)
My apologies, good sir.
ah…all good. it was fun while it lasted! lets do it again some time. till then.
Who cares if they hit him? The took walks against him, and that played a big part.
Homer and Double
Maybe not in quantity but definitely in quality
I’m pretty sure by “hit” people were implying “score runs off of”. We scored 4 off of him.
in 4 innings.that’s a9 era. good for me.
I’m on my phone but…. Grand slam?????
Now that’s a crooked #!
Enough with the small ball crap. It’s fine when selectively used but it generally kills the chance of a big inning.
Idk, 8 kind of looks roundish to me.
When people say put up a crooked # they are generally referring to the inning total (7)
But I get the stab at humor.
Didn’t realize that Swisher has more RBIs than Cano.
7 runs this inning on 3 hits. Nice.
Damn you Swisher and your garbage time grand slams!
Jeeze, only 8 runs!rally killing grandslams suck.
Oof.
Was fearing a requisite home run there against Hughes.
Yep, looks like only a matter of time before Phastball Phil gives one up with that kind of lead. At least it shouldn’t matter.
wait…according to the radio crew somebody started a rumor that Robbie is juicing?
Gotta be up early for work but don’t wanna go to bed. I have this terrible gut feeling that the bullpen will make this closer than it needs to be.
go to bed.
Or Hughes will do it himself.
g’night guys, hopefully Hughes and the pen can hold this.
Later Plouferz.
C’mon Phil! Get this dude!
Damn, 100 pitches in the 5th. Could we see an Adam Warren sighting or is 6 runs not a big enough lead?
Even with four runs, expect some Lowe and Wade.
Hope it’s not too bad.
And there it is!
God damnit. Do not make this interesting!
Hughes man are you serious?
Well, there was the requisite Hughes home run.
No letting the Jays back in this game, Phil. C’mon now.
Thanks, Phil. JFC.
This should be his last batter, regardless of the outcome.
game’s far from over. I have a feeling we may need to use the good relievers again.
Obligatory Hughes HR.
Damn…C’mon Phillip!
At least Phil timed his bad start correctly.
17-0 Giants. They’re pretty much doing what they want offensively.
Doesn’t Corey Wade have to make an appearance in this game?
I know the Giants are short at receiver, but is Corey Wade a good option?
Oh, you.
against this carolina D, why not?
great game. great to be back on RAB; hopefully the sky is fallin fans are gone
they’re not…
The obvious text poll answer is Detroit.
Well, if Phil’s going to have an off night, he picked the right time.
That, there, was really the two knocks against Phil back to back: let a batter come back from 0-2 to walk, then the home run. It’s why, despite the fact Phil has REALLY come on this season, the seed of doubt’s always there.
Corey Webster out of the game for the Giants getting X-rays on his hand. Might have been hurt on a play where he and Steve Smith got mixed up and went to the ground.
wtf happened there?
Moar Runz pls.
LOL, just stand their Kelly Johnson. Bench him.
Holy hell, Ichrio made an out. Bench his lazy ass.
Baseball. Player.
Nix gonna be Nix.
I thought this game would be entering the 8th inning by the time I made it to the game thread. At least they’re leading.
Gimmie dem 2 runs back baby
No RISPFAIL tonight.
Yankees chowing on the extra-RISPY tonight.
Not even a Giants fan, but I enjoy their games. 10-4? I can watch some football for a bit.
steve weatherford getting the night off.
We got into a twitter war once. He calls me and other fans bums.
be nice to the punter. he’s a punter.
Wanna see Swish homer from both sides tonight.
Well it won’t be this AB. I suppose if you’re going to strike out three times, mixing in a grand slam is the way to do it.
They got the 2 runs back. Now Lowe can get one of his 4 out saves.
4 inning saves. Or they can let Freddy stretch his legs.
20-0 Giants.
Have they gotten to Cam Newton?
One sack. Couple of batted passes. They’ve not let them much past midfield.
he’s under pressure every down.
and my god, eli is shredding their secondary.
I don’t know about you guys but I’ll be cheering for the Red Sox the next 10 days.
just don’t want them staying hot when they play the yanks. no bueno.
What happened to the last thread? Were people acting a fool?
I wasn’t in it, but it appears to have been a technical issue.
Pastalungingjeter.
Pasta lunging Jeter.
Are you and Pat D hanging out together at the same pub?!
Lol, just noticed that. Great minds…
some italian place needs to make that a dish.
It would be glorious. I’ll put a call in to uncle Vinny.
you’re related to joe pesci?
Fugetaboutit. True story, my great uncle was major of Newark NJ WAY back when.
I guess Corey Wade is really in the Girardi dog house when he’s behind Lowe in the bullpen rotation.
Well, with the deficit being as large as it is, I don’t think this necessarily says that.
Precisely. It’s also possible he’d want the flexibility of having Lowe go as long as he could.
6 run lead and walk the #9 hitter.
He was squeezed partially though. That last pitch looked like a strike
Lowe threw two pitches in that at bat which were well within the strike zone and called balls. This is ridiculous.
Excellent play by Robbie.
Come on Derek (Lowe). I’m trying to also watch the Giant game but he’s flammable enough that a six run lead doesn’t feel as comfortable as it should.
wouldn’t mind seeing some young fellas up, with a 6 run lead.well, after they get out of this mess.
and lowe did it himself.
Maybe 8th or 9th inning.
hope so. want to see warren get another shot. think he could do the phelps thing next year if phelps has graduated to the rotation (think he deserves a shot).
Yeah, really. I hope one bad game, one where I’m sure he was a bit jittery, would result in them giving up on him. Ouf of the Phelps, Mitchell and Warren group, many think Warren might have the best upside of them. I’m still more in the Phelps camp, but I frankly haven’t seen enough of Warren to have a strong opinion.
yeah, you have to think phelps since he’s done it in the majors.
a-war owes me. had a friend in from out of town and spent a fortune on good seats (because she wanted to see cc). we sat in 100 degree misery for that snuff film. did fall for phelpsie that night though. and saw dewayne wise’s pitching debut.
oh, and youkilis went 0-fer.
As I see 34 walk off the mound, I have AJ flashbacks.
the good ones (that epic in boston) or the bad ones (most of them after 2009).
Me too! I was like, “Oh, that’s Lowe.”
Similar build, it gets me every time he pitches.
C’mon Alex, do your best Swisher impression and grace us with some garbage time love!
Single count?
Jayron Hosley with a pick of a deflected pass, Giants with a chance to add more.
Shit. Back to back incompletions, have to punt.
How is Eli not a great athlete? That’s an idiotic remark.
weatherford gets in the game with :37 to go in the first half.
These Cano rumors are pissing me off. I find it hilarious that a North Carolina newsperson started it. Someone from New York should start one about Adam Jones.
And they don’t make sense. Cano has always had power.
He’s the same hitter this year he was in 2010. Minus the clutch.
Adam Jones doesn’t brush his teeth before going to bed. You heard it here first.
Throw fucking strikes please.
And thank you.
Double Play!
Good AJ!
Is there such a thing as a big DP in a 6 run game?
With a man on base with Lowe on the mound I always get the feeling he’s just a single and a blast away from creating a save situation or mix and match bullpen hell.
Ramses Barden has a 7/123 night going on?
Giants know how to develop WRs.
Well we still cant trust Cory Wade
That’s not gonna earn you more innings Corey.
Maybe we need to re-explain the rules of baseball to Cory Wade.
there’s mike a’s kelly johnson.
Ok there, Corey Wade. Try sucking less now.
yeah, wade’s in the game. rudely welcomed. ouch. i like wade. hope he turns it around.
Well it looks like someone forgot to tell Corey Wade he figured it out in AAA.
Wade looks like he never left…lol
Johnson did have to atone for the way he’s played defense tonight.
He’s not gonna make the post season roster.
i reverse jinxed cam newton and i’m sorry.
Jose Iglesias(!!!!!!!) hit a home run today.
anyone know what time louie is on? i’m caught up on the season, but don’t even remember what time it airs. is it even today?
eh, sorry for the non-baseball comment. i’ll fix it:
so the yanks play in new york? so does louie. oh he’s got a show (connect with first comment).
If you don’t know, them I won’t tell you.
Dwyane Wade or Corey Wade?
As the resident Heat fan, let me answer that question for you, Joe….
I used to be a Heat fan. But then the big 3 came, and people called me a bandwagoner for liking the Yankees, Cowboys, and Heat.
So I became a Knicks fan who loves Wade and Lebron.
I hate to ask, but is this Wade’s last batter if he doesn’t get Gose?
It is and was.
Uh-oh.
Wow, Corey.
Way to make this a game.
Ah damn Come on Dickerson.
Rays with an improbable rally, now a chance to win.
This would be a season-saving win for them if they can do it.
Andrew Bailey – one of those trades you don’t need hindsight to realize it is bad.
There were some folks in the SABR community trying to defend the move (and the Melancon move); saying well it was dealing from a position of surplus (Reddick and Lowrie being the surplus)
If Joba hangs a slider I may have to shoot somebody.
Jesus Christ 5 run lead throw some fucking strikes.
Soriano is up? you gotta be shitting me.
Just win, baby.
The fact that Soriano is warming is just fucken ridiculous.
True that.
One swing of the bat, and this could be a one-run ballgame.
Seriously. No easy games with this team.
Argh. None of this is on Joba. Grounders just not hit hard enough.
lol Boston.
Walkoff HR for Tampa
What the fuck is going on??? I leave the computer to eat, I come back and the pen is starting to shit the bed. Plus the Red Sox blew the lead in the ninth inning.
This is so sad
Rare to see Soriano smile lol
More overmanaging by Girardi. Why not let Lowe, who looked fairly sharp, finish out the rest of the game?
The pen is exhausted, yet here he goes again forcing himself to mix and match by taking out a guy who was sharp just for the heck of it. And now he’s warming up Soriano with a 5 run lead.
The excuse that these games are must win is BS. Girardi has guys out there who can get 5 outs before they give up 5 runs. If you overreact to every situation, these guys will be out of gas before you even get to October.
Because Derek Lowe is unreliable.
…and Cory Wade is the picture of reliability.
I’d have stayed with Lowe, but whatever. Real fucking easy to manage from my PC.
Again. A 6 run lead. The guy is sharp on this night. There is no reason to even mess around and force yourself into a situation in which 2 or 3 guys also need to be sharp when you already know that one guy is that.
Derek Lowe is sharp? He walked 2 people with a big lead. That is inexcusable.
Wow, you are pretty dumb.
1 of those walks came in an AB in which he threw 2 pitches well within the zone that were called balls, including the 3-2 pitch that led to the walk.
The second walk was him pitching carefully to Encarnacion. He induced a GIDP from the next batter that erased it.
I don’t give a shit. Walking people with a lead is inexcusable.
You’re an idiot. He threw a strike on 3-2. It was called a ball. What do you want him to do? You are blaming him for the umpire missing a call.
I’d rather him walk Encarnacion and get out all of the crappy hitters behind him than serve up a home run to their only real threat in the batting order.
You never change your game plan because of the score. That’s when you let them back into the game by throwing a ton of meatballs because of the “big lead.”
You have a weird definition of “sharp.”
You can’t be serious?
Lowe induced 3 ground ball outs and 0 fly ball outs. He struck out 2 batters, and of the 2 walks, 1 of them came on a 3-2 pitch which was well within the strike zone.
Almost every pitch he threw was at the knees on the corner with sink. That is definitely sharp stuff. I don’t know what game you’re watching.
I was watching the game where Lowe threw nearly as many balls as strikes and walked a hitter with a .299 OBP.
You can’t be serious. Look at the pitch tracking for that at bat. The 3-2 pitch was a strike and the umpire blew the call, as well as another pitch that he blew earlier in the AB.
Lowe was definitely sharp, but whether you want to admit it or not, he was throwing up zeroes. That’s more than you can say for the rest of this pen typically.
You don’t mess with something that is already working. A pennant race is not a time to get guys work, and a 6 run lead is not a time to experiment in that situation.
And if Lowe had stayed in and started pitching Like Derek Lowe, you’s be saying something like:
“You got 2 good innings out of Lowe which was more than expected. Girardi trying to push his luck and steal outs cost him.”
No, I would not be saying that, because it was completely the right decision to leave Derek Lowe in there.
He was sharp tonight, and inducing weak contact. You don’t want to go to any of your primary relievers, and the other options aren’t too great. Lowe is a lot better bet than Cory Wade or Cody Eppley.
Lowe wasn’t “sharp” at all. He walked 2 people and gave up another single. Even the DP pitch was well off the plate and would have been ball 4.
This thread is the most action Derek Lowe’s gotten since some loose broad in a Boston bar restroom stall in ’03.
The 3-2 pitch was a strike. The umpire blew the call. The walk to Encarnacion was him pitching carefully to him.
He completely dominated Colby Rasumus in his AB with runners on base. He punched out Sierra on a bunch of nasty sinkers on the outside corner at the knees.
He looked very good tonight. You don’t mess around to try to get guys work when you are in a pennant race. Leave the guys in that are getting outs.
Questioning taking Derek Lowe out of the game is such a second guess move I can’t even describe it. If Lowe had stayed in and gotten hit hard (which is very likely because he is terrible) then I am 95% sure you’d be bitching about them trying to “push their luck” with Lowe or something.
No, I would not be saying that. When a pitcher is throwing up zeroes, and is stretched out to throw more innings, and would allow you to save the key arms in your bullpen, it’s a NO BRAINER.
There is no hindsight. No second guess. Even if Wade pitched well, it was still a mistake, because then you may still have to use guys like Eppley, Logan, Joba, etc who need the day off to finish the game in the 9th.
Even if Wade pitched well, it was still a mistake, because then you may still have to use guys like Eppley, Logan, Joba, etc who need the day off to finish the game in the 9th.
Or Wade could have pitched a scoreless 7th and someone like Eppley, thomas, Freddy or Warren could have pitched the 9th.
Except Girardi would not bring in any of those guys to pitch. If Wade showed any signs of faltering in the 9th, you know he would have had Soriano warming up, even if the lead were 5 or 6 runs.
Wade had not pitched in 11 days prior to tonight. 6 runs is not quite a blowout, and especially not with a manager who thinks a 4 or 5 run lead is acceptable territory for warming up your closer and set up man. Why risk it?
You don’t seem to realize that there is just as much, if not more of a chance of Lowe doing what Wade did if he had stayed out for the 7th.
And I’m pretty sure that if it was 10-4 in the 8th and 9th inning , Eppley, Thomas, Freddy or warren would have been pitching.
As soon as Wade came into the game, I was annoyed because I knew that Girardi would probably have to use a few other relievers to finish off the game who could probably use the rest.
Wade is shaky, and if Wade isn’t sharp then you have to go to Joba and co, who have pitched a lot lately.
Why even open yourself up to that possibility? Give Lowe a chance, and if he starts to fall apart then you can get guys up. If he continues to induce ground balls and cruise through these weak hitters, then you saved your pen.
The more he mixes and matches, The less winnable these games become. this should have been a laugher tat allowed The bullpen to rest. Should of known better when in the 6th up 10 to 4 Kay said “if the yanks hold on to win this one”. Pretty telling with a 6 run lead
So your blaming the manager for the bullpen woes> Is that what you’re saying.
And now he has a chance to try to save Soriano and Robertson after they had a very heavy workload yesterday.
3 run lead, already through the middle of the order hitters, and Joba inducing relatively weak contact.
But nope. It’s Girardi. It’s a save situation, so Soriano HAS to come in to pitch. Even though he threw over 30 pitches yesterday and pitched in both games of the double header. It’ll be a miracle if these guys don’t end up like the Torre boys (Karsay, Quantrill, Gordon, Villone, Sturtze)
Doesn’t matter to us. Soriano’s gone after this year.
Soriano’s dead arm may be someone else’s problem next year.
Add Proctor to that list
Hmmm, I’ve never seen Soriano smile before.
that’s cause he knows he’s going to cash in this off season. hope he does, somewhere else. I’m glad he’s on the team this year, but that 14mill can be used better elsewhere.
Tying run is up.
Christ.
And the Jays will bring the tying run to the plate.
Poor joba 3 ground balls 1 out 2 runs
Ground ball’d to death. Just get the third goddamn out already and let’s win this.
Some great Defense this inning.
joba’s getting groundball after groundball. crazy that this inning is still going. they’re just perfectly placed.
MFIKY…..smiling? WTF?!
Save #43 coming up. . . . dreaming of a big payday.
mf, i kiss you.
“Adam Lind has power. 10 home runs this year.”
To be fair, it’s those types of players that have killed the yanks this year.
Can we start booing yet?
False troll alarm.
You must have been pissed when Swisher hit that granny.
i’d say no. unless you’re rooting for the blue jays.
DINKY DAMN HITS!!!
That’s all on Cory Wade.
Of course.
Exhale. Joba got away with one there.
And that inning is finally over.
I want Swish to K so he can have the 2 big G’s for the game.
dang.
Well isn’t this just fucking peachy.
I suppose an easy win was out of the question…
Always something with this team.
And even if they do win tonight, they are hurting their chances tomorrow against a tougher Oakland team.
It’s like every game is a microcosm of how this season has gone.
Exactly.
“We wanted to get Wadey some work, he hadn’t been used in a while. Wadey just made a couple of bad pitches.”
You’re an idiot
There’s no call for that.
There’s no call for what you did. If you blame Girardi, say it directly.
Get bent, Language Cop.
So what, still no reason to call someone an idiot for that.
It’s Greg’s blog, we’re here at his discretion.
Right, I was going to add “especially from you” but I could only imagine where that would go. Apparently there are too many people drinking on a school night tonight.
If Greg throws a titty fit, we all have to massage his titty until it calms down.
But then, how good looking is Greg? And are we assuming he’s male or female? Because those are things you need to take into consideration during times like this.
Well now Greg, erstwhile conscience and and nanny of the blog looks like you’ve got right into the swing of hurling insults. You are a hypocrite.
Only when its deserved.
People making idiotic comments deserve to be launched. Even myself.
I should bookmark this for future use. “Even Myself”, huh?
Picking apart Girardi’s strange bullpen moves and mocking his banal postgame comments is something that many, if not most, people on this page do. It’s all in good fun, and your fucking hall monitor bullshit is totally over the line.
I just got in – not quite sure I believe the box score. WHAT HAPPENED?
They scored, we scored, we scored a lot, they scored, we scored and then they scored a little more. oh and the pitching could have been better.
If you ask Greg, the hit fairies magically appeared and chipped away at every brilliant move Girardi made with his manager and binder prowess. Real talk, Lowe was probably yanked too soon when he could of eaten some innings and let the bullpen rest. Instead wade shit the bed and joba got 3 ground balls that turned into 2 runs
If you ask me Cory Wade shit the bed and didn’t do what he was asked to do.
And that’s not the manager’s fault.
Why don’t simple people understand this concept.
It is most definitely the manager’s fault. He took out a guy who had shown he could record outs and throw up zeroes to bring in a guy who had not pitched in 11 days and may not be sharp, hence possibly forcing him to use many other overworked relievers to finish off the game.
It is amazing how incapable you are of thinking for yourself.
YOU’RE asking why people don’t understand a concept?
Scene: We are in a kitchen. On top of a counter, we see a POT and a KETTLE. Both are a metallic black color.
POT: Hey, Kettle.
KETTLE: Yeah?
POT: You’re black.
End Scene
You are not massaging his titty appropriately there.
i’m glad the yanks are winning. i’m just happy they have the lead. i’m just not going to complain because they are winning.
Leave.
No I completely agree with him.
Complaining on a win shows snobbiness and greed.
yes. this is where i am going with this. isn’t it good that the yanks are winning and are in first place!? how many teams can say that right now? I’m going to enjoy this.
No one is complaining that they’re winning. That’s a ridiculous notion.
Complaints would be like: “It was a 10-4 ballgame, Soriano has pitched a fricken’ ton lately, the A’s are next after this series, a much better team than the Jays, so the fact that Sori had to warm up and may pitch in this game is ridiculous.”
You never seem to grasp that the events of one game can have an impact on the game(s) that follow.
No complaining during a win ever.
Why do we play. We play to win the game.
We win to salvage your serotonin levels.
Nice job by Robertson.
I agree. It’s a bit too much hyperbole, though. It’s the stretch run. If your closer needs to pitch, your closer needs to pitch.
You would just like it if the closer didn’t have to pitch every day, and especially when the game was such that the closer shouldn’t have even had to touch a baseball.
Like yesterday – no complaints at all with Soriano for a four out save in the first game, and no complaints for the second game either. Close games, he’s there to finish those.
Fortunately, he’s not in tonight. I would’ve had a coronary if he was. And not because of Joe – because of the middle relief (read: Wade) not doing its job.
no no, everything has ramification, but still, enjoy a win without tearing apart what has gone wrong, at least for a little while. every win isn’t going to be perfect.
sarcasm rob. look up.
Yeah, both of you need to look it up.
no, i meant look at the above comments. everyone is bitching about how they yanks and girardi are screwing up, yet they’re winning. enjoy the win and smile, have a beer, smoke some rizza and enjoy.
Dude, I know. I jokingly said “leave” because you were making too much sense. I do something sarcastic like that, I don’t know, three times a day on here?
well, you got me this time. i’ll be back to avenge my defeat next time Optimus.
I’ll be waiting.
It’s all good. Greg’s fault, really.
stupid greg. i’ll be waiting the bushes outaide with some silly string.
I’m sorry. I just hate people blaming Girardi for stuff that goes on on the field. The players are being paid the most money and they should get the blame first.
Sometimes I speak before I think. I apologize for that,
greg, just a bit of joshing here. i agree with you.
Yanks are winning in the 9th. Let’s argue the merits of an inning of Derek Lowe earlier in the game.
rob, i think we’re on the same page here.
Of course we are.
Carreno = Mo
Throw the curve
Well, hope DRob doesn’t replicate his performance yesterday, or of his previous closing efforts.
Robertson makes sense here, but I don’t know. . . . . .
Wow an 0 2 curve!
Oh hey, look, a swinging strike on a curveball.
Girl-name is now batting. Good luck, chick! LOL!
Just as I thought. Failure! LOL!
Another curve strike out….wow this is so revolutionary
DRob’s on tonight.
That curve is such a ridiculous K pitch.
DRob really should throw that more.
The sad thing is it really feels as if everybody has noticed this but D-Rob and Rothschild.
They’ve noticed it. They’re just not telling us what’s going on. : -)
Well, it’s not an untuck, but it’s a W.
Hughes leads the team in wins. LOL!
he’s pitched pretty well since april.
16 wins would lead a hell of a lot of teams in baseball. A very, very nice recovery from a guy we’d left for dead in April.
and assuming a regular rotation he’s got starts coming against minny and toronto again. sixteen and counting.
socks looking mighty high there!
hey look! robbie can close! never woulda thunk it.
So maybe robertsons move should be to pull his pants down over The socks
Nice job DRob.
Mitch Williams: “I think the Orioles are gonna win that division.”
Of course you do Mitch.
—
(Please don’t bother arguing this. Baltimore obviously has a legit chance. If I want to be snarky, let me.)
I put Mitch Williams’s opinions on baseball at approximately the same level as I put my pet dog’s opinions on baseball. Perhaps his are a tad lower. Both are miles ahead of Skip Bayless’s opinions.
Wonder if he still has nightmares of Joe Carter at night.
The only thing Mitch was worse at than analyzing games was closing them.
Just win, baby. Great sweep. That was the appetizer. Oakland will be the main dish.
Even Swish haters have to admit that he doesn’t give vanilla interviews.
yanks and jints both made it interesting from about 10:15 to 10:45. order restored.
I think Ichiro’s interpreter called an audible there. I specifically heard him say “Axisa, suck my nuts” in Japanese.
Good things happen when Robbie throws that curveball.
Nice game guys.
Is it humanly possible for Carolina to possibly play any worse?
I can’t wait for the Giants to play the Eagles on Sunday Night. Going to see them have a real test. They should blow out Tampa Bay and Carolina.
Some people had them coming out of that division. Why?
Goodnight guys. I’m gonna get some much needed sleep. Go Yankees!
